The company fosters innovation and seeks to deliver exceptional value through its diverse range of products.About the roleWe’re hiring a hands-on Controller to own accounting and build a disciplined finance operating cadence. You will implement a 5-business-day month-end close, deliver reliable weekly/monthly reporting, and build a pricing & full-cost calculator we use to price products to hit target returns. We operate multi-currency (USD/CAD/GBP/EUR) with 200+ SKUs and ~5 new launches/month.What success looks like in the first 90 daysWeekly KPI pack live and consistent: sales, contribution margin, Amazon ad spend (allocated by SKU/ASIN), inventory turns (by region/channel)Month-end close implemented: repeatable close calendar + reconciliations + accruals, with a target close of 5 business daysPricing/full-cost calculator v1 built and adopted: landed cost → freight/duties → fulfillment/pick-pack → Amazon fees → FX → expected returns reserve → contribution margin / required priceKey responsibilities 1) Close ownership + controls (Xero) -Design and run a structured month-end close from scratch (calendar, cutoffs, checklists, owners, SOPs) -Own reconciliations and data quality (bank, AR/AP, inventory, COGS, Amazon/Shopify settlement tie-outs) -Implement controls: approval workflows, documentation standards, audit trail discipline, and consistent accounting policies across entities2) Weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting -Weekly KPI pack (by channel + region; SKU where applicable): -sales -contribution margin (incl. Amazon fees + SKU-level ad spend) -inventory turns -Set up and maintain return accounting logic: expected returns reserve based on SKU historicals (5–8% overall, varying by SKU) -Monthly: -full P&L + balance sheet -inventory reconciliation + inventory turns -tax/VAT coordination (preparation currently outsourced) -Quarterly: -rolling forecast support (financials by region/channel) -13-week cash flow -management reporting that highlights margin leakage and drivers3) Pricing, costing, and margin system -Build and maintain a full-cost pricing calculator used for pricing decisions -Produce contribution margin reporting that is decision-ready (what to change: price, ads, fees, freight, packaging, etc.)4) Team leadership -Lead and develop a 3-person accounting team -Own bookkeeping workflow (currently outsourced) and bring core reporting/bookkeeping discipline in-house over time -Partner with operations/inventory planning to improve inventory and COGS accuracy (inventory tracking currently in Sheets)Your background Must have -Controller-level experience owning month-end close end-to-end (not just bookkeeping) -Strong operational accounting: reconciliations, accruals, controls, documentation -E-commerce accounting experience with marketplace settlements (Amazon strongly preferred) -Advanced Excel modeling (pricing/costing calculators); comfortable working with messy data and improving it -Experience in multi-currency environments -Strong English communication and ability to lead remotelyNice to have -Xero expertise (or QuickBooks/NetSuite with willingness to ramp quickly on Xero) -PowerBI experience -Experience transitioning inventory accounting from spreadsheets into a more controlled process/tooling -Experience allocating ad spend to SKU/ASIN and tying it into contribution marginWork setup -Remote -Preferred timezone overlap: GMT+7 (APAC-friendly)
