As part of our holistic approach and commitment to embracing FAM (Fulfilling, Appreciated, Meaningful) in the workplace, we offer the runway to develop Fulfilling careers that foster your career growth, recognising and Appreciating the strength of talent and capabilities that we continue to build internally; and inspiring and encouraging each other to make Meaningful contributions in the work we do at SATS.MISSION AND PURPOSE – Global PMO FunctionThe main objective of the Global PMO function is to;• Provide SATS Senior Leadership (GMB) with oversight of major strategic and business critical/ high profile projects; including status, progress monitoring, governance, risk management, resourcing, budget management and deliverables status and outlook• Provide guidance on new project launch prioritisation, monitor project portfolios, challenge the rate of progress towards objectives and adequacy of resources to projects, and facilitate communication between project teams and senior management• Oversee and standardise project management practices and reporting across the Group, establish and enforce project management methodologies, processes and tools (WRIKE) to ensure consistency and efficiency in project execution.• Provide direct project management leadership as required for high priority/ high value projects, provide coaching support to junior project managers, and direct intervention for projects off-track at GMB request• Leverage organisational and other resources / capabilities to best effect, defining and sharing best-practices, securing key stakeholder and leadership support, and deploying external expertise as required to accelerate or enable progress towards objectives• Develop processes to ensure prioritisation of projects, identification of interdependencies, conflicts in timing and resource allocations, project bottlenecks and resolution of the sameGlobal PMO Manager and Portfolio Analyst - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESThe Global PMO Manager and Portfolio Analyst will be the primary support to the Global Head, PMO but will also closely interact with the regional PMO’s and Project Managers in the field. The incumbent will be responsible for fulfilling or supporting the fulfilment of the key responsibilities of the PMO function, including and specifically;Rapidly acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to become Global Super-user for WRIKE, the project and portfolio management tool now being deployed across all SATS Group BU’s and Functions. In this capacity the Global PMO Manager will support deployment and development of the skill-base, and provide the capability at global level to use the tool for the production of dashboards, reports, analyses, and moreSupport the development, operation and maintenance of regional and functional project registers, by which SATS can; A. Maintain visibility of all on-going initiatives and projects, providing clarity on interdependencies between projects and avoiding duplication of effort. B. Enable better decision taking and prioritisation of new projects, again in respect of interdependencies and duplication, but also for improved management of resources deployed on projectsCo-ordinating with Finance to allow tracking of project costs vs budget, and delivery of financial benefits vs. commitmentContributing to and co-ordinating existing project management practices currently deployed globally with a view to supporting the organisation in a progressive transition to increased commonality and consistency of methods used across SATS Group. Whilst acknowledging that all projects are unique and that no one size fits all model applies, there remains an aspiration to work towards more unified ‘best of best’ methodologies and the Global PMO Manager will be expected to take a lead role in this effort, co-ordinating knowledge share and consensus between regions and across functionsOperate as stand-in for the Global Head of PMO as and where required and as necessaryAdditional tasks and responsibilities may also be assigned from time to time and as appropriate for the successful development of the PMO function and in the fulfilment of its purposeQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCEProject and Portfolio Management Tools and SystemsPast experience in a PMO role with first-hand exposure to the set-up and operation of proprietary project and portfolio management tools (not necessarily WRIKE) would be a distinct advantage for this role.Experience and a keen interest in the use and on-going development of cloud-based technology for project and portfolio management, and an enthusiasm to take the lead role within SATS for widespread adoption and maximized utilisation of its capabilities is also a desirable qualityFinance/ Operational/ Project ManagementClear understanding of what strong project management looks like, and the key elements enabling it, plus first-hand experience in project managementExperienced in operating in an operational environment (of any form) a solid understanding of operating structures and performance management criteriaA solid understanding of operations finance, finance indicators and financial reportsAnalyticalAble to understand, interpret and challenge operations performance reports and finance reports and able to develop further analyses of the same as requiredAble to create meaningful and insightful performance dashboards and reports that provide a clear indication of project and portfolio performance, progress to date and against plan, use of resources to date and forward projection, risk and risk managementAPTITUDESExperience in global, multinational environment, used to, and comfortable with operating flexibly across international time-zonesMature and confident communicator, able to engage with all levels of the organisation in formal and informal situationsMinimum 10 years of experience with about 5 years in the area of Business Transformation, Project Management and/or Change management programsDemonstrated result and business-oriented mind-setSelf-motivated and able to work remotely and without on-site supervisionExternal experience with organisations operating with a mature PMO function utilising PPM technology would be an advantage
