Role and Key Responsibilitiesexperience:- 3–8 years Location:- BangaloreRole SummaryThe RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring that railway gangway systems meet defined Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) requirements across the full product life cycle, in compliance with international railway standards and customer specifications.Key ResponsibilitiesReliability & AvailabilityDevelop and manage RAMS plans in accordance with EN 50126 / IEC 62278Perform FMEA / FMECA, reliability block diagrams, and failure rate calculationsCalculate MTBF, MTTR, Availability (Ao/Ai)Support design optimization to reduce failure ratesMaintainabilityDefine maintenance concepts, intervals, and repair strategiesSupport spare parts strategy and maintenance manualsEnsure maintainability targets are achieved (accessibility, repair time)SafetyConduct Hazard Identification (HAZID) and risk analysisMaintain Hazard Log throughout the projectSupport preparation of Safety Case / Safety ReportEnsure compliance with EN 50126 / EN 50129 safety requirementsQualifications & SkillsB.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, or Systems Engineering3–8 years experience in RAMS or system safety (railway preferred)Strong knowledge of railway standardsExperience with mechanical railway or Metro systems is a plusAnalytical mindset with strong documentation skillsStrong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering terminology.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., MS Office,).Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability.Key CompetenciesCross-Functional Collaboration / team workWork closely with:Design EngineeringQuality & IRIS (ISO/TS 22163)Manufacturing & Service teamsSupport audits and technical reviewsKnowledge of ISO standards for technical documentation.Experience with content management systems and version control tools.Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Ability to create technical illustrations using graphic tools.
