Strong knowledge of Indian Standards, ASME Codes, and BS Standards. Preparation of Standard Quality Plans (SQP/QAP), test procedure formats, and Inspection & Control Plans (ICP) in line with customer specifications/tender documents and applicable codes/standards. Review and verification of vendor documents such as QAPs and testing procedures against tender specifications and project requirements. Coordination with Engineering and Procurement teams for QAP planning to prevent disputes or misalignment related to testing protocols. Conduct inspections at vendor premises in accordance with approved QAPs, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, datasheets, and test procedures, ensuring timely execution aligned with project timelines. Perform incoming material inspections, including verification of chemical composition and mechanical properties as per supplier test certificates conforming to ASME Section II Part A; ensure material identification and traceability. Preparation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) or Compliance Reports based on inspection findings. Experience in preparing documentation related to WPS, WPQ, PQR, FQP, SOPs, and site protocols as per client requirements. Conduct PQR and welder qualification tests; review WPS and PQR, carry out WQT, and prepare final reports for client and third-party approvals. Coordinate with and arrange Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies for inspection of manufactured or fabricated items. Maintain and manage all Quality Control protocols at site/vendor works/head office, ensuring proper documentation, verification, and certification by clients/consultants. Good knowledge of structural steel fabrication, piping, and mechanical equipment. Review and manage preheating and PWHT charts for various steel grades, as applicable. Submit MIS reports and regular inspection visit reports to the project team with copies to management for review. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
