With multiple manufacturing units, R&D centres, and a strong pan-India presence, Tropical Agro is committed to quality, innovation, safety, and regulatory compliance across all its operations.Role Overview TheQuality Leadwill lead and oversee the complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions at the Kharagpur manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust quality systems, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement, and building a strong quality culture across the plant.Key Roles & Responsibilities Quality Leadership & Strategy Lead the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions for the manufacturing unit Define and implement quality policies, objectives, and KPIs aligned with organizational goals Lead and develop the quality team, ensuring high performance and technical competence Quality Systems & Compliance Ensure compliance with ISO standards, GMP, regulatory norms, and internal quality systems Lead internal and external audits (ISO, customer, regulatory) and ensure timely closure of observations Maintain documentation, SOPs, quality manuals, validation records, and batch documentation Process & Product Quality Ensure consistent product quality from raw material receipt to finished goods dispatch Approve raw materials, in-process controls, and finished products as per specifications Drive root cause analysis (RCA), CAPA, and corrective/preventive action implementation Vendor & Raw Material Quality Evaluate and approve vendors based on quality standards Conduct vendor audits and ensure compliance with defined specifications Monitor incoming material quality and supplier performance Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production, R&D, Engineering, EHS, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams Support new product introduction, scale-up, and process validation activities Participate in management reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Customer & Regulatory Interface Handle customer complaints, quality issues, and regulatory queries Ensure timely investigation, reporting, and resolution of quality-related concerns Support inspections by statutory authorities and certification bodiesKey Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in QA/QC systems within agro-chemical or chemical manufacturing In-depth knowledge of ISO, GMP, regulatory compliance, and audit management Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills Strong analytical ability for problem-solving and continuous improvement Effective communication and stakeholder management skillsQualifications B. Sc / M. Sc (Chemistry) or B. E / B. Tech (Chemical / related discipline) Certification in Quality Management / ISO / GMP is preferredExperience 6+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance & Quality Control Minimum 4–5 years in a senior leadership or head-level role in manufacturing Prior experience in agro-chemical or chemical industry is strongly preferred
