Workday HCM System Administrator – Job DescriptionOverview We are seeking a highly competent Workday HCM System Administrator to support the continued maintenance, optimization, and governance of our Workday platform. The ideal candidate will ensure system integrity, stability, and performance while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the People & Culture (HR) function. Individuals with strong technical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to data quality and process alignment are encouraged to apply.Responsibilities System Administration & Configuration Serve as the principal technical administrator for the Workday HCM platform, ensuring consistent performance, security, and reliability across all HCM modules (Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, and Absence). Maintain user access, security frameworks, and system permissions, including conducting periodic audits and compliance assessments. Configure and update business processes, calculated fields, notifications, and security settings based on evolving business requirements. Collaborate with Technology & Operations and HRIS teams to diagnose system issues, support integration maintenance, and manage system updates and feature deployments. Conduct data audits, manage EIB-based mass data uploads, and ensure ongoing validation aligned with data governance standards. Monitor system operations, address performance concerns, and handle escalated Tier 2/3 support matters. Data Management & Reporting Uphold data accuracy and completeness within the HCM system, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of employee and organizational data. Support data migration, verification processes, and reporting obligations for both internal and external stakeholders. Develop, refine, and maintain advanced reports and dashboards for HR, Finance, and Payroll functions. Collaborate with Finance on position management, cost‑center hierarchy, and payroll audit reporting needs. Cross-Functional Support Work closely with People & Culture and IT teams to translate business requirements into effective system solutions. Contribute to user training initiatives and documentation to promote consistent and proficient system use. Collaboration & Change Management Partner with HRIS in areas of data stewardship, change management, and business analysis to align technical and functional objectives. Coordinate with People & Culture, Finance, Payroll, and Technology & Operations Services to deliver scalable and efficient system enhancements. Manage change-control processes, including configuration tracking, communication with stakeholders, and user training related to system updates. Engage internal technical teams and external vendors to sustain system reliability, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements. Continuous Improvement & Projects Stay informed on Workday Community updates, release information, and best practices to assist with continuous improvement initiatives. Lead or support enhancement projects, ensuring thorough testing, documentation, and deployment of new system features. Promote user adoption through training, documentation, and proactive support.Qualifications Required Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Workday HCM System Administrator , preferably within accounting, finance, or professional services. Strong practical expertise with Core HCM and related modules (Advanced Compensation and Talent preferred). Demonstrated ability to configure business processes, security roles, calculated fields, and execute EIB data loads. Experience maintaining data governance standards and ensuring compliance. Proven collaboration with Finance, Payroll, and IT to ensure data and configuration alignment. Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Experience supporting Workday semi‑annual update testing and documentation. Background working with Finance on position management, cost center hierarchies, and payroll audit reporting. Preferred Workday certifications in Core HCM, Reporting, or Security. Experience supporting Workday implementations or new module deployments. Ability to learn and support additional Workday functional areas. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related technical field; HR or Accounting experience is advantageous.
