This role is ideal for someone who thinks visually, understands storytelling through composition and motion, and can translate scripts and concepts into engaging visuals. You will work closely with the Creative Lead and design backgrounds, characters, props, and overall visual styles using AI tools, supporting 3D animated short-form movies. This is a hands-on visual execution role, focused on quality, consistency, and storytelling through design.ResponsibilitiesDesign visuals for ashort-form movie series(10 movies, ~2 minutes each) Translate scripts, storyboards, and creative direction into compelling visual designs Create and maintain visual style guides and standards in collaboration with the Creative Lead Generate backgrounds, characters, props, and visual styles using AI tools Define and apply visual styles, color palettes, compositions, and layouts Ensure visual outputs meet quality standards and brand guidelinesWhat You Will Not Be DoingWriting scripts or owning story concepts Defining the overall creative or narrative direction Recording or producing voice-overs or audio Working as a project manager or production coordinatorRequirements:A diploma or Bachelor's degree 3+ years of experience in visual design and concept design Strong portfolio showcasing visually driven, story-supporting design work, including AI-generated or AI-enhanced visuals Solid understanding of composition, color theory, lighting, and visual hierarchy Comfort working from scripts, storyboards, or creative direction Ability to receive feedback and iterate efficientlyApplication RequirementsPlease include the following with your application: A link to yourportfolioand/orshowreeldemonstrating your expertise in creative visual designingWhy Join JoVE?Contribute to the mission of accelerating science research and education.
