Job Description: MEP Electrical Design Engineer Position: MEP Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical DraftsmenDepartment: Electrical – MEP DesignLocation: SURATEmployment Type: Full-TimeJunior Level : 2-3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A ELECTRICAL MEP DESIGNER Role SummaryThe MEP Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, planning, and developing electrical systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role includes preparation of electrical design drawings, load calculations, technical specifications, BOQ, and coordination with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant electrical MEP solutions.Key Responsibilities Design & EngineeringPrepare electrical system design including LV & MV systems, power distribution, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV systems.Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and fault level studies.Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layout drawings, schematics, and equipment schedules as per project requirements.Design ELV systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, PA system, Voice/Data, and BMS (as per project needs).Documentation & CompliancePrepare technical specifications, BOQ, tender documents, and design reports.Ensure all designs comply with national & international standards (NBC, IS/IEC, IEEE, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).Review and verify electrical shop drawings, materials, and method statements submitted by contractors.Coordination & Project SupportWork closely with architects, structural, PHE, HVAC, and interior design teams for coordinated MEP design.Attend project meetings, provide technical support, and respond to RFI queries from site teams and clients.Support site team in design clarifications, inspection, and resolving technical issues during project execution.Technical Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD 2DHands-on experience with design calculation software (ETAP/ Dialux/ Excel-based tools).Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.Expertise in LV/MV power distribution, lighting design, ELV, and fire alarm systems.Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication and coordination abilities.Time management with ability to handle multiple projects.SALARY AS PER MARKET STANDARDS
