Position SummaryHead the Legal & Documentation function and act as strategic legal advisor to executive leadership. Oversee retail leasing, land acquisition agreements, regulatory compliance, litigation, and enterprise-wide contract governance for mall development and operations. Drive risk mitigation, transaction structuring, and protection of company interests.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Develop legal strategy aligned with business goals; advise CEO/Board on risks and transactions; establish governance frameworks.Retail Leasing: Draft, negotiate, and execute Lease Deeds, L&L Agreements, CAM, MOUs, Fit-outs; standardize templates; ensure registration/enforceability.Land Acquisition: Lead due diligence, title verification; structure Sale Deeds, JDAs, JVs, Conveyance Deeds; mitigate real estate risks.Litigation: Manage disputes with tenants, landowners, vendors; oversee arbitration/court proceedings; implement prevention measures.Compliance: Ensure adherence to real estate/corporate laws; liaise with regulators; monitor legislative changes.Contract Governance: Review enterprise contracts (construction, FM, vendors); implement lifecycle management and risk frameworks.Team & Stakeholders: Build/mentor legal team; collaborate with Leasing, Projects, Finance, Operations; manage external counsel.QualificationsLLB/LLM from recognized institution.15–20+ years in real estate/retail/mall legal functions, with expertise in leasing portfolios and land transactions.Key CompetenciesStrategic thinking and business acumen.Advanced drafting/negotiation skills.Deep real estate/commercial law knowledge.Risk management and leadership.High ethical standards.
