Mangalam University, Sohna Road, Gurugram, HaryanaPosition Overview:The Vice Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the University, providing visionary leadership, academic direction, and administrative oversight. The role entails advancing the University’s mission of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and social impact. The Vice Chancellor will lead strategic initiatives across academics, research, internationalization, rankings, and accreditations while ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability, and global competitiveness.Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Leadership & Institutional DevelopmentFormulate and implement the University’s Strategic Plan, embedding measurable academic, research, and social-impact goals.Provide leadership to achieve institutional excellence, NAAC A+ grade, NBA accreditations, and inclusion in NIRF Top 100 and QS/THE global rankings.Ensure alignment of University policies and practices with national and international quality frameworks such as NAAC, NIRF, NBA, QS, THE, and Times Impact Rankings.Champion Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and drive social-impact initiatives within the University’s global-outreach mission.Foster a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement across all academic and administrative domains.2. Academic Excellence & Quality AssuranceLead academic planning, curriculum innovation, and interdisciplinary program development in alignment with NEP 2020.Strengthen internal quality mechanisms through the IQAC, ensuring outcome-based education, academic audits, and accreditation readiness.Monitor and enhance faculty performance, research productivity, and teaching-learning standards through structured evaluation and mentoring systems.Drive academic benchmarking and comparative data analysis with leading national and international universities to sustain competitive positioning.3. Research, Innovation & Global EngagementPromote a robust ecosystem for research, consultancy, and funded projects by encouraging collaboration with industry, government, and international partners.Facilitate partnerships for joint research, student/faculty exchange, and global mobility programs.Establish centres of excellence in emerging areas such as AI, Sustainability, FinTech, and Design Innovation.Encourage participation in QS and THE impact rankings, focusing on citation strength, industry linkage, and internationalization metrics.4. Governance, Administration & FinanceUphold effective governance through transparent policies, statutory compliance, and regulatory alignment (UGC, AICTE, BCI, PCI, COA, etc.).Oversee financial management ensuring accountability, fiscal discipline, and optimal utilization of resources.Lead strategic enrollment growth, infrastructure expansion, and digital transformation initiatives.Conduct Quarterly Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA) and ensure timely submission of AQAR, SAR, and other statutory reports.5. Stakeholder Collaboration & Institutional ReputationWork closely with the Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Deans, and Governing Bodies to achieve institutional goals.Liaise with national and international agencies, accrediting bodies, and ranking organizations.Serve as the University’s ambassador in academic, governmental, and industry forums to enhance visibility and reputation.Cultivate alumni, donor, and corporate partnerships to strengthen institutional endowment and outreach.Required Qualifications & Experience:Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) with an outstanding academic and administrative record.Minimum 15–20 years of experience in higher education, with at least 5 years in a senior academic or leadership position (Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, or Director IQAC).Proven track record in achieving NAAC A+ accreditation, NIRF Top 100 ranking, NBA accreditation, and participation in global ranking frameworks (QS/THE).Demonstrated success in strategic planning, research promotion, institutional governance, and quality assurance.Strong understanding of higher education policies, NEP 2020, and global education trends.Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to inspire diverse academic communities.Key Competencies:Visionary and strategic leadershipAcademic and research excellence orientationPolicy formulation and governance acumenData-driven decision-making and quality focusFinancial and operational stewardshipStakeholder management and institutional representationCommitment to innovation, integrity, and social responsibility
