Role: Head - ProjectsBase location: Turbhe Navi Mumbai (with frequent travel to Africa & Pune)Reporting To: Manufacturing Head Role Scope: Multi-country | Greenfield & Brownfield ProjectsRole PurposeThe Head – Projects is the single-point owner for all capital projects across Shalina’s manufacturing and supply network. This includes greenfield manufacturing facilities, plant expansions, capacity upgrades, utilities, and major engineering initiatives.The role is responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management – from project conception and charter approval through engineering design, contractor selection, execution, commissioning, and handover to operations.The incumbent will lead projects centrally, while supervising site-based teams who are accountable for on-ground execution. This role ensures standardization, cost discipline, timeline adherence, and governance across geographies.Key Responsibilities1. Project Strategy & Portfolio GovernanceOwn the global project portfolio aligned to Shalina’s manufacturing and supply chain expansion strategy.Translate business and capacity requirements into clearly defined project charters, scope, timelines, and budgets.Establish project governance frameworks, stage gates, and approval mechanisms for all CAPEX projects.2. Project Planning & Engineering OversightLead conceptualization, feasibility assessments, and engineering strategies for greenfield and brownfield projects.Oversee preparation and approval of concept layouts, master plans, and detailed engineering drawings (civil, MEP, utilities, and process).Ensure alignment of designs with manufacturing, quality, EHS, and regulatory requirements.3. Budgeting, Cost Control & Commercial ManagementOwn CAPEX budgeting, cost estimation, and board-level project approvals.Drive contractor and vendor selection, tendering, technical evaluations, and commercial negotiations.Ensure tight cost control, value engineering, and adherence to approved budgets across projects.4. Project Execution & DeliveryOversee execution of multiple concurrent projects across geographies through site-based Project Managers.Monitor progress against master project schedules and key milestones; intervene and escalate where required.Ensure timely installation, commissioning, and readiness for validation and operations.5. Vendor, Contractor & Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with EPC contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and statutory authorities.Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and Finance.Ensure smooth coordination between central teams and site-level execution teams.6. Compliance, Quality & Risk ManagementEnsure all projects meet GMP, regulatory, safety, and corporate quality standards.Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and formal project handover to operations.7.
