We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to oversee and implement comprehensive safety programs in a composite manufacturing environment involving explosives, propellants, and chemicals. The ideal candidate will ensure strict compliance with statutory regulations, internal safety standards, and best industry practices to maintain a safe and incident-free workplace.Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory) from a reputed institution.Formal Safety Qualification (Diploma / PG Diploma / Certification in Industrial Safety) – Minimum 1–2 years duration.Experience:5–10 years of relevant work experience in industries dealing with:ExplosivesPropellantsChemicalsExperience in handling of Liquid & earth storable propellants, Cryogenic liquids etc is much preferred.Experience in high-hazard or process industries is highly preferred.Knowledge on PESO and SMPV rules/regulations is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Implement and monitor safety management systems across the facility.Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and hazardous material handling requirements.Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification studies.Oversee safe material handling practices, including storage and transportation of hazardous materials.Monitor machinery safety, guarding systems, and preventive maintenance safety protocols.Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees and contractors.Ensure adherence to PPE usage, permit-to-work systems, and emergency preparedness procedures.Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective and preventive actions.Ensure safe handling and processing of composite structures and related materials.Coordinate mock drills and emergency response exercises.Required Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of:Material handling safetySafety Management SystemsMachinery safety and guarding standardsComposite structures and associated hazardsExperience in handling of Liquid propellants is much preferredFamiliarity with explosives and chemical safety standards.Good communication and leadership skills.Ability to work in high-risk environments with strict compliance requirements.
