Job Title: SAP S/4HANA Functional Process Data Expert – (PTD/Planning)Location: REMOTEContract PositionWe are undertaking large-scale global transformation projects that require data conversion and migration from ECC to SAP S/4HANA, as well as ongoing process data management (reference, conditional, configuration, transactional, etc.).We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Process Data Expert to support a global greenfield S/4HANA implementation across key value streams (RTR, PTD, PLM, STP, OTC, and broader supply chain processes). This role is critical to ensuring that business data is fit-for-purpose, standardized, governed, and ready to enable successful process design, system build, migration, and adoption.The Functional Process Data Expert will act as a bridge between business process owners, functional SAP teams, the data enablement organization, and where applicable the Kinaxis planning team, ensuring that data requirements are fully embedded into solution design and execution.Kinaxis (RapidResponse) experience is highly desirable, particularly in the context of supply chain planning and integration.Key ResponsibilitiesData Enablement & Solution DesignPartner with global and regional business stakeholders to define data requirements aligned to standardized value stream processes.Translate business process designs into clear master and transactional data definitions for S/4HANA.Support template design by ensuring consistent data models, attributes, and hierarchies across regions.Validate data readiness for end-to-end process execution (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return).Focus on supply chain–related areas: production planning, recipes, material purchase, and broader supply chain and planning processes.Functional Process Data OwnershipDefine data objects, attributes, and mandatory fields for supply chain and production planning domains.Support business rules, validations, and derivations for master and transactional data.Align data structures with SAP best practices and industry standards.Collaborate with data, mapping, and governance teams to ensure consistent use of global standards.Data Conversion, Migration & ReadinessLead or support data conversion from ECC to S/4HANA, including mapping, transformation, and validation.Support data cleansing, enrichment, and harmonization activities.Define and validate data mapping rules from legacy systems to S/4HANA (and where relevant, to Kinaxis).Participate in mock conversions, data loads, and reconciliation activities.Ensure data quality thresholds are met prior to cutover.Data Governance & StandardsSupport the establishment and enforcement of global data standards and policies.Work closely with Master Data, Data Governance, and data management teams.Help define roles, ownership, and stewardship models for value stream data.Contribute to ongoing data quality monitoring, metrics, and remediation processes.Testing, Cutover & HypercareSupport functional and integrated testing with a strong focus on data accuracy and completeness.Validate business scenarios using migrated and newly created data.Support cutover planning and execution from a data perspective.Provide post–go-live support, stabilization, and issue resolution related to data.Required QualificationsExperience5+ years of SAP functional experience with a strong data focus.Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA; greenfield implementation experience strongly preferred.Proven involvement in large-scale, global ERP implementations.Deep understanding of value stream business processes and related data objects, especially in supply chain, production planning, and materials management.Demonstrated experience in data migration, data conversion from ECC to S/4HANA, data cleansing, and validation.Technical & Functional SkillsStrong knowledge of SAP master data objects (e.g., Material, Vendor/Business Partner, BOM, Routings, Pricing, Customer, etc.).Solid understanding of S/4HANA data model changes vs. ECC.Experience working with SAP MDG or similar governance tools (preferred).Familiarity with data migration tools (e.g., SAP Migration Cockpit, ETL tools; LVM or similar).Exposure to Kinaxis RapidResponse or other advanced planning systems is highly desirable.Ability to read and interpret functional specifications, data models, and mapping documents.Soft SkillsStrong stakeholder management and communication skills across business, IT, and data teams.Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional, and virtual teams.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams (data conversion, mapping, governance, testing).Preferred QualificationsExperience in manufacturing, consumer goods, building materials, or asset-intensive industries.Prior role as Functional Data Lead, Data Domain Lead, or similar leadership role in data workstreams.Experience defining global templates and harmonized data models.Knowledge of data quality tools, metrics, and continuous improvement practices.Experience collaborating with planning tools such as Kinaxis in an integrated SAP S/4HANA landscape.
