Role SummaryThe R&D Executive will be responsible for the development, optimization, and scale-up of nutraceutical and functional food formulations. The role involves translating client concepts into commercially viable, regulatory-compliant products aligned with KAG Industries’ contract manufacturing capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development- Develop new formulations for health supplements, protein powders, malted foods, ingredients, and premixes. - Conduct bench trials, pilot batches, and process optimization. - Work on taste masking, flavor optimization, and stability improvement. - Support customization and reformulation requests from clients.Technology Transfer & Scale-Up- Translate lab formulations into plant-scale processes. - Prepare batch manufacturing records (BMRs) and technical specifications. - Coordinate with production for trial and first-time manufacturing. - Troubleshoot processing or quality issues during scale-up.Regulatory & Documentation- Ensure formulations comply with FSSAI and nutraceutical regulations. - Prepare ingredient declarations, claims substantiation, and technical dossiers. - Support label compliance and regulatory submissions. - Maintain R&D documentation, SOPs, and change control records.Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work with procurement on ingredient selection and vendor qualification. - Support quality team in setting specifications and testing protocols. - Assist business development with technical presentations and samples. - Engage with clients during product development discussions.Continuous Improvement & Innovation- Explore new ingredients, technologies, and delivery formats. - Benchmark competitor products and market trends. - Improve cost efficiency and manufacturability of formulations. - Support shelf-life and stability studies.Education:- M.Sc / B.Tech / M.Tech in Food Technology, Nutraceuticals, Dairy Technology, or related field.Experience:- 2–6 years in nutraceutical / food / dietary supplement R&D. - Experience with protein powders, premixes, or functional foods preferred. - Contract manufacturing exposure highly desirable.
