The role involves supporting large-scale hybrid storage environments, ensuring performance, data protection, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesStorage Management (On-Prem)Lead administration of multi-vendor enterprise storage:Hitachi VSP/HCPNetAppHPE Nimble/Primera/3PAR/MSADell EMCSynology NASLUN provisioning, RAID/pool configuration, replication, snapshots, and performance tuning.Perform storage migrations, lifecycle upgrades, and expansion planning.Cloud Storage Administration (AWS & Azure)AWS Cloud Storage SkillsManage and optimize AWS storage services:EBS: Volume creation, performance tuning (GP3/IO2), snapshots, encryptionS3: Bucket management, lifecycle rules, replication, versioningEFS: Performance modes, throughput, mounting and integrationFSx (Windows, ONTAP): Backup, snapshots, performance troubleshootingMonitor cost, utilization, and performance of AWS storage resources.Support hybrid storage integration with on-prem SAN and backup infrastructure.Azure Cloud Storage SkillsAdminister Azure storage resources such as:Azure Storage Accounts: Blobs, Files, Queues, TablesAzure Files: SMB/NFS shares, snapshots, backup policiesAzure Managed Disks: Performance tuning, snapshots, encryptionAzure NetApp Files (ANF): Volumes, pools, snapshots, replicationConfigure shared storage for Azure VMs and AKS workloads.Manage cloud storage security (RBAC, keys, private endpoints).Support storage monitoring and optimization through Azure Monitor.SAN Fabric AdministrationManage and troubleshoot Brocade & Cisco MDS SAN fabrics.Responsibilities include zoning, VSAN configuration, ISL setup, RSCN troubleshooting, and performance diagnostics.Lead resolution of complex fabric-level incidents and outages.Data Protection (Commvault) – Level 2Administer and maintain Commvault CommCell (CommServe, MAs, DDB, Libraries).Manage backup schedules, storage policies, retention settings, and job monitoring.Perform end-to-end restore operations (file, VM, database, application).Troubleshoot MA/DDB performance, agent failures, connectivity issues.Support cloud library backups (Azure Blob, AWS S3).Required Technical SkillsOn-Prem Storage (Advanced)Hitachi VSP/HCPNetApp ONTAPHPE Nimble, Primera, 3PAR, MSADell EMC, SynologyCloud Storage (Intermediate–Advanced)AWS Storage: EBS, S3, EFS, FSx, Backup policiesAzure Storage: ANF, Managed Disks, Storage Accounts, Azure FilesSAN Switching (Expert Level)Brocade SANCisco MDS (NX-OS)ISLs, Zoning, Fabric merges, FC protocolsData Protection (Commvault – Level 2)Backup and restore administrationPolicy and SLA managementTroubleshooting Media Agent, DDB, cloud librariesApplication-aware backupsSoft SkillsStrong analytical ability and end-to-end troubleshooting capability.Excellent written and verbal communication.Leadership during severity incidents.Capable of guiding L1/L2 teams.Preferred QualificationsCertifications: Hitachi, NetApp, Brocade, Cisco, AWS, AzureCommvault Certified Professional (CCP)ITIL FoundationScripting knowledge (PowerShell/Python/CLI)
