It offers strategic consulting, digital architecture, and sector-specific solutions across areas like transport, water, justice, and finance. The team enables large-scale e-Governance, data analytics, and automation to improve efficiency and citizen experience.>>About the Role:We are seeking an Excise Process & System Expert to support a government client project. The role involves designing, optimizing, and enhancing excise-related processes and systems while collaborating closely with client stakeholders. This position is ideal for professionals with strong process design, system implementation, and domain expertise in excise operations.>>Key Responsibilities:- Map, design, and optimize excise processes and operational workflows. - Support implementation, enhancement, and troubleshooting of excise-related IT systems or ERP modules. - Conduct requirement gathering, process reviews, gap assessments, and provide solution recommendations. - Prepare comprehensive project documentation including SOPs, process maps, training materials, and user guides. - Coordinate effectively with government client teams, project stakeholders, and technical teams. - Facilitate UAT activities, system validation, and support user adoption. - Ensure compliance with relevant excise regulations and process standards.>>Education:- MBA/CA or equivalent post‑graduate degree. - Experience in excise policy, compliance frameworks, or regulatory process design.>>Experience- Minimum 6 years of experience in process design, system implementation, excise domain operations, or related roles. - Prior experience working with government clients in IT, consulting, or process improvement projects. - Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. - Familiarity with ERP platforms or workflow-based systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, custom government systems). - Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with multiple stakeholders.>>Preferred Skills:- Experience in excise management systems, tax administration platforms, or government workflow systems. - Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or other ERP modules related to excise, taxation, or supply chain. - Exposure to process reengineering, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, or continuous improvement initiatives. - Understanding of excise regulations, compliance frameworks, and statutory reporting requirements. - Prior involvement in digital transformation or large-scale government IT projects. - Ability to create detailed process maps using tools such as MS Visio, Lucidchart, or ARIS>>Skills & Competencies- Process Excellence: Strong capability to map, analyze, and optimize complex business processes. - Technical Aptitude: Ability to understand system functionalities, workflows, and configuration requirements. - Analytical Skills: Proficient in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and requirement interpretation. - Documentation Expertise: Skilled in preparing SOPs, BRDs, FRDs, training material, and user guides. - Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with government officials, tech teams, and consultants. - Communication Skills: Clear and structured verbal and written communication. - Project Management: Ability to manage tasks, timelines, and deliverables in a structured manner. - User Support & Training: Experience conducting UAT cycles, training sessions, and user onboarding. - Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation, process validation, and compliance checks. - Adaptability: Comfortable working in client-driven, dynamic, and multi-stakeholder environments.>> Perks & Benefits- Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) and wellness programs - Competitive pay with performance bonuses and retirement benefits - Flexible work options and generous paid time off, including parental and sabbatical leave - Professional development through certifications, global mobility, and learning platforms - Inclusive culture with recognition programs, volunteering opportunities, and employee engagement initiativesKPMG India has a policy of providing equal opportunity for all applicants and employees regardless of their color, caste, religion, age, sex/gender, national origin, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or other legally protected status.
