Job DescriptionSenior Electrical Design EngineerLocation: BangaloreExperience: 6–8 yearsYour RoleAs a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the design and development of electrical systems, low‑voltage control panels, and wiring harnesses. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with global regulatory standards, and contribute to new product development and value engineering initiatives.In this role, you will:Lead the design and development of electrical systems, LV control panels, and cable/wiring harnesses.Perform electrical component sizing, selection, and qualification in alignment with UL, IEC, and country‑specific regulatory requirements.Conduct trade‑off analysis of circuits and components to achieve optimal performance, cost, quality, and design flexibility.Foster a culture of innovation, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement.Collaborate with structural, electronics, software, and reliability teams to define system‑level functional, reliability, and qualification requirements.Work closely with the supply management team to source, evaluate, and qualify purchased components and assemblies.Ensure robust documentation and compliance throughout design and development processes.Qualification: B.E. Electrical & Electronics Engineering (mandatory).Your ProfileStrong analytical thinking, quick learning capability, and excellent communication/presentation skills.Ability to independently perform electrical calculations, technical documentation, and create engineering presentations.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Experience in Product Development and Electrical Systems design following MRD, PRD, and regulatory requirements.Expertise in electrical component specifications, sizing, selection, analysis, and functional & reliability testing including:Switchgear & control components, primary/secondary protection devices, transformers, power supplies.Low‑voltage motors—AC Induction, Brush DC, BLDC, Stepper, Servo, Permanent Magnet.Development of LV motor starters and controllers (Star/Delta, Soft Starters, VFDs, etc.).Proficient in designing and developing Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) control panels.Solid experience in product‑level electrical system design, wiring, and harness design.Strong understanding of electrical safety and protection standards.Thorough knowledge of global electrical codes: IEC, UL, NEC, NFPA, and country standards such as UL and CSA.Experience with PLM systems and Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.Exposure to global engineering environments.Knowledge of electrical design tools preferred.Tools & Technical SkillsElectrical system design and analysis toolsWiring & harness design toolsLV/MV control panel design toolsPLM and BOM management toolsMS Office Suite
