Qualification & Experience : MS/ DNB with 8 years post PG experience At least 3 years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the concerned Specialty in a permitted / recognized / approved medical teaching institution.Eligibility Parameters: Age : Not exceeding 70 years Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) Certification - Should have completed the Basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC. RBMET Training Certificate - Should have completed the basic course in Medical Education Technology from Institutions designated by NMC.Main Job Tasks: Student teaching & Mentorship Programme - Teaching, Mentoring, Supervising undergraduate, graduate, post graduate students as per allocation Teaching degree courses, including lectures; to ensure smooth and successful completion of the assigned official work entrusted by the unit head / HOD / both ( as applicable ) regarding teaching / academic work, lab work ( wherever applicable ) and in patient care. Providing academic leadership in both under-graduate and postgraduate courses in relevant fields of specialisation. To conduct and guide research work in the specialty in coordination with HOD; Research activities and research guidance and scientific publications. Student evaluation and programme evaluation. Developing resource material for teaching and learning. Students’ Counselling Leading / supporting and guiding students in their co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, maintenance of the department and other subordinate staff. Contributing effectively in identifying live projects for the students wherever applicable, leading to laboratory modification and removal of obsolescence Providing demonstrations and supervising experiments and investigations. Answering questions in class or via email or telephone. To help postgraduate students in preparation of dissertation and seminar / journal club as assigned by the HOD Providing feedback on student progress to concerned designated authority. Departmental Activities - Planning and implementation of instruction in the department Assisting in departmental administration. Writing proposals to secure funding for research. Taking part in teaching programmes of the department Assisting with various departmental duties and providing academic support to Professors and other staff. Attending faculty and departmental meetings and voicing concerns or providing suggestions for improvement. Recruiting, training, and mentoring new TAs and other junior staff. Responsible for proper care of O.P.D. / I.P.D. patients including emergency duties as per the respective council norms ( wherever applicable ) Responsible for proper maintenance of the case and filing system in the department ( wherever applicable ). Supervise the college ( academics ) and hospital work being carried out by the residents in the Department ( wherever applicable ). Clinical Responsibilities Obstetrician diagnoses and conducts treatment of diseases and disorders of human female reproductive system during prenatal, natal and postnatal periods, conducts examination of pelvic organs and girdle for integrity and adequacy. Obtains blood tests for haemoglobin and blood cell contact, blood pressure and clinical tests for urine, to evaluate course of pregnancy and to control untoward pregnancy manifestation. Supervises arrangements for proper delivery of child; and arranges for blood transfusion, if necessary. Provides external manipulation and uterine massage along with administration of drugs during labour. May perform operation or use forceps for delivery of child. May prescribe and induce therapeutic abortion in case of chronic diseases.[NCO 2015 - 2212.1100] Gynaecologist; diagnoses and conducts treatment of disease and disorder of female genital organs. Conducts examination of the body for symptoms of disease and disorder of other systems of body. Considers clinical test, histopathological examination along with detailed history of ailment and diagnosis disorder. Treats ailments by medicinal or by surgical methods. May refer patients to other specialists to diagnose disease. [NCO 2015 - 2212.1200] Examine, diagnose within the scope of training, experience, and privileges. To render patient care in the specialty Intra - Departmental / College - Responsibilities - Audit process as per requirement. Representing the college at conferences and delivering presentations when necessary. University Related Responsibilities - Participation as Invigilator, as neutral observer, in the digital evaluation process. Representing the University at conferences and delivering presentations when necessary. Examination work such as organising, supervision and assessment etc. pertaining to the College and CDSIMER examination. Curriculum development and developing resource material.
