Company Name : KMK VenturesJob Description: Legal ManagerLocation : AhmedabadDepartment Legal / ComplianceJob Summary (Purpose)We are seeking a senior, high-caliber legal professional to lead and manage the company’s legal function. This role will handle employee-related legal matters, vendor/customer contracts, compliance, dispute resolution, litigation management, and risk mitigation. The person will act as a strategic advisor to leadership and ensure the business operates legally and ethically while supporting business growth.Key Responsibilities1) Contracts & Commercial (Vendor/Customer/Partners) Draft, review, negotiate and finalize vendor agreements, customer contracts, NDAs, MSAs, SLAs, PO terms, licensing agreements, MOUs, LOIs, and amendments. Identify contractual risks (liability, indemnity, IP protection, termination, payment terms). Maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, approval workflows and compliance controls. Manage contract lifecycle including renewals, notices, and obligations.2) Employee & HR Legal Handle employee legal issues: disciplinary actions, termination, misconduct, harassment cases, salary disputes, compliance violations. Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and HR regulations (including POSH for India). Draft and review employment contracts, HR policies, NDAs, non-solicit clauses, and conduct internal investigations. Advise HR leadership on sensitive employee issues to prevent litigation and risk exposure.3) Compliance & Corporate Governance Ensure compliance with company law, corporate filings, and statutory registers. Maintain compliance systems for sector-specific regulations, data protection laws, and local/state requirements. Conduct internal audits, create compliance manuals, and implement policy upgrades. Manage regulatory interactions and respond to legal notices.4) Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management Manage pre-litigation strategy: legal notices, replies, settlements, documentation, and risk assessment. Coordinate with external counsel for litigation/arbitration and ensure timely case progress. Maintain litigation tracker and provide updates to leadership. Prepare case documents, evidence, agreements, and internal communication records.5) Risk Management & Legal Advisory Provide day-to-day legal advisory to Sales, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations. Evaluate legal risks in new projects, marketing, business expansion, and vendor/customer onboarding. Train internal teams on contract basics, fraud prevention, compliance, and ethics policies.Key Deliverables / KPIs Improved contract TAT (standardReduced contractual risk exposure. Zero missed compliance deadlines. Effective dispute resolution and improved legal recovery. Policy implementation (POSH, Code of Conduct, Vendor Policies). Strong documentation and audit efficiency. Required Qualifications LLB / LLM from a recognized university. 7–15+ years legal experience depending on seniority. Strong background in contracts, HR legal, compliance, and dispute handling. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. Experience coordinating with external counsel.
