Your work will make history and help millions of lives each day come together around the joys of food and inspire their well-being.What you will be doing: The Supply Chain & Store Operations Technology Organization has an opening for a Sr. Director Technology - Store Operations based in Bengaluru, India. Enterprise Store Operations function includes developing digital products used by store associates for various functions including receiving, backroom management, vendor management, store ordering, physical counts etc. This role leads the strategy, implementation, and optimization of tech solutions for retail stores, bridging business needs with IT, driving efficiency, improving associate experience, managing roadmaps, and ensuring seamless tech integration for sales, operations, and innovation across physical locations, often requiring strong leadership, technical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration. Building partnerships with internal Engineering and Product Teams is critical aspect of this role. This role requires an experienced technology leader with a demonstrated background delivering innovative solutions, developing a high-performance culture within your team and ability to partner with data science and business leadership. Industry domain knowledge on apps used in store operations is required. Experience with DevOps, cloud technologies, financial management, vendor management and team development are essential. This position will report to the VP Supply Chain & Store Operations Technology. Members of the team will be based in Bengaluru, India. Communication skills at all levels of the business and technology organization are critical to success.What we are searching for: Strategic Leadership – Develop and maintain a long-term vision and technology roadmap aligning engineering goals with business objectives. Technical Expertise – Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, ensuring high standards of quality and performance. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, best practices, and emerging technologies. Experience with Cloud Computing, Big Data, AI / ML is highly desirable. Very good understanding of software architecture & patterns is desirable. Retail savvy – you are passionate about using technology to build solutions, as well as are well versed in retail store operations systems. Familiarity with store environment in context of network, cloud connectivity, mobile app usage & data complexity is essential. Associate Focus – A deep understanding of store associate needs and the ability to translate those needs into technical solutions that deliver exceptional value and delightful experience. Data driven – you can leverage data and facts to support your point of view and prove performance. Collaboration – Partner closely with product, business, and other engineering partners to build, run the platforms and solutions. You are a team player and can work tirelessly across levels and functions to get results. A problem-solver – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and you find ways to get things done.We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role, preferably within Grocery or Retail Store Operations. Previous experience building & implementing digital solutions for store associates is preferred. A minimum of 15+ years of experience in software engineering with at-least 7 years in leadership positions. An ability to move quickly and effectively, and is an effective communicator who uses excellent judgment and problem-solving skills. The capability to think strategically while also rolling up your sleeves to do the work and execute. Ability to stay current with industry trends and technologies. Ability to work up and down the leadership range, with good flexibility to shift quickly between strategy and tactics. Sound quantitative and analytical skills and abilities. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices. Inspiring team leadership style, both for direct reports and internal team members. Excellent at people management, building and leading teams. Exceptional at prioritizing and focusing on the highest value opportunities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving. Excellent understanding of architectural principles involved in building cloud-based platforms. Experience with micro-services architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies with an eye towards scale, automation, resiliency, high availability and user experience. Knowledge and deep understanding of AI / ML, & GenAI, and how to use it effectively to serve our customers, associates, and partners better, more effective, and personalized.
