This position requires resource to work on accounting & reporting for Home & Community team under the Optum Health segment independently. Resource would need to work on journals, blackline reconciliations and internal reporting including adhoc requests from business partners. Resource should have good understanding of U.S. GAAP and Financial StatementsPrimary Responsibilities: Perform assigned work in a self-directed manner Own primary responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of deliverables assigned Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close cycles. Review trend analysis and prepare commentary on the variances. Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations (Blackline) and identifies and researches reconciling items Review expense reports from Concur, Ariba & Ledger and do the appropriate accounting entries during month close period. Own primary responsibility for the fulfillment of audit (internal and external) requests, as needed Have a sense of urgency for getting work done, act within deadlines, show a significant level of effort, persistence, and time commitment to achieve goals and meet deadlines Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation Perform work in a both team-oriented and self-directed work environments and demonstrate ability to work with less structured, more complex issues Serve as a resource to others within the Controllership, including staff based in US Collaborate with team members including US team on special projects, as needed Stakeholders for the role ‘ Accounting Managers, Directors & Controller’s Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: , MBA Finance, CA Inter, equivalent experience ( 8+ years) – CA’s (6+ Years Post Qualification) 8+ years of professional accounting experience Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and Financial Statements Comes with good experience working with reporting tools like Blackline, Concur, Ariba, Hyperion smartview and PeopleSoft General ledger Advance proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications (Advanced Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Past experience working with general ledger / sub-ledger accounting applications Analytical skills and an eye for detail. Hands on exposure to: Variance analysis & commentary writing Balance Sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items GL ledger accounting (Preparing / Posting Journals, Accruals, Reversing Journals etc.) Correctly applying US GAAP and company practices to assigned work Running queries in a general ledger system Responding to internal and external auditor requests Proposing solutions to noted problems Documenting methodology, analysis and conclusions Excellent Written and verbal communication skills Ability work independently in self-directed manner and able to handle multiple tasks Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet themPreferred Qualification: Finance experience in any insurance industry. (health insurance industry preferred). Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Access/VBA/Power Query/SQL etc.Work Hours: Regular shift hours : 3.30 PM to 1:00 AM IST Monthend/quarter/year end: Shadow US work hours ( 6:00 PM to 3.30 AM IST )
