This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to leave their mark on some of the most exciting projects in the UK.Your next role Lead the plumbing and firefighting design from concept to detailed design stages. Design and review mechanical systems such as plumbing, drainage, pumping systems, and fire protection in accordance with applicable standards. Carry out PHE design calculations, sizing, equipment selection, layouts and technical reports. Prepare technical specifications and schedules and design development reports. A high level of technical skill in public health services and fire protection systems design is essential. Keep leadership design team members informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the BuroHappold and the client are achieved. Manage project finances, monitor scope, and ensure quality Plan and organise your workload to ensure that you are meeting clients expectations. Attending client, site and external design team meetings. Support junior engineers and participate in internal design reviews to ensure quality and consistencyYour skills and experience 6+ years' experience in building services design engineering; Significant experience working in a design consultancy, preferably in the UK Undertake public health services, gas and fire protection systems design on international projects. Experience of working with international codes such as British Standards, NFPA, IBC, etc. Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently. Broad building design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects. Excel skills (a detailed understanding including the use of macros). Although mechanically biased it is expected that you will have a good understanding of electrical concepts and their impact upon the overall project. Ideally also showing an awareness of other key design team members such as architects, structural and civil engineers. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM and mechanical design software. Bachelors degree or Masters degree in relevant subject.
