We are seeking a Company Secretary who will play a key role in maintaining legal compliance, advising on corporate laws, supporting board activities, and ensuring adherence to the Companies Act and related regulations.Website: the Role : We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Associate to support our expanding legal and compliance operations. The role involves commercial contracting, compliance management, coordination with external counsel/consultants, and close collaboration with internal teams. This position is ideal for candidates with early-stage professional experience who are comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment and handling structured legal workflows end-to-end.Key Responsibilities : Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, service agreements, licensing agreements, vendor contracts, technology/SaaS documents, and partnership arrangements. Oversee routine compliance activities (statutory, contractual, and process-driven) and ensure timely adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Liaise effectively with external legal counsel, consultants, and regulatory bodies; manage external opinions, filings, timelines, and deliverables. Conduct legal research on corporate laws, technology regulations, IT Act, DPDP Act, IP laws, and other applicable frameworks impacting the business. Review and support documentation related to intellectual property (registrations, renewals, usage guidelines, ownership confirmations, brand protection). Identifying, drafting, implementing, and updating internal policies (Privacy Policy, Data Protection Policy, Anti-Bribery Policy, Asset Usage Policy, etc.) from time to time. Provide legal inputs to internal teams such as operations, tech, HR, and product, ensuring alignment between business needs and compliance standards. Maintain documentation discipline through version control, contract repositories, compliance logs, and structured file management. Support audits, due diligence processes, and risk assessments. Review procurement, tender, and government documentation; coordinate clarifications, submissions, and compliance requirements. Prepare clear summaries, notes, emails, and internal advisories for management. Lead, guide, and manage team members reporting to them, ensuring quality of work, timely deliverables, and adherence to internal processes. Proactively assess and identify areas of improvement from a legal and compliance standpoint, take necessary initiatives, and drive end-to-end implementation of proposed enhancements.Key Skills & Qualifications : LL.B./B.A. LL.B./B.B.A. LL.B. with 1–2 years of experience in a law firm, preferably in a General Corporate or Technology/Commercial Contracts team. Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills with a solid understanding of commercial and technology agreements. Ability to liaise with external counsel, consultants, and statutory authorities professionally and efficiently. Good understanding of Indian corporate laws, IT and data protection frameworks, and evolving regulatory requirements. Strong research skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex legal documents. High level of ownership, organisational discipline, and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity and discretion. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment.Preferred : Experience working with or advising early-stage or technology-driven companies. Exposure to IP portfolio management, compliance documentation, or government-facing projects.
