Robotics Engineer - Autonomous Mobile & Manipulation Systems Department: Robotics Engineer (AGV & Robotic Manipulation) Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Chennai Experience: 1-3 yrsAbout the Role We are looking for a hands-on Robotics R&D Engineer to design and develop next-generation autonomous mobile robotic systems (AGV/AMR with manipulation capabilities). This role involves end-to-end system development - from concept design and simulation to prototyping, integration, and real-world deployment. You will work across mechanical, embedded, and software domains to build fully integrated robotic platforms capable of navigation, perception, and intelligent control. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex electromechanical problems and building real-world robotics systems from scratch.Key Responsibilities • Design and develop autonomous mobile robotic systems (AGV/AMR) with integrated manipulation capabilities. • Develop and optimize ROS2-based navigation and control stacks. • Integrate sensors such as LiDAR, IMU, depth cameras, and encoders. • Perform hardware–software integration of actuators, controllers, and embedded systems. • Conduct simulation using Gazebo / NVIDIA Isaac Sim before deployment. • Develop and test control algorithms for mobility and stability. • Lead rapid prototyping efforts including mechanical and electronic validation. • Perform real-world testing, validation, and performance optimization. • Demonstrate system capabilities to stakeholders and incorporate feedback. • Maintain clear documentation of architecture, schematics, simulations, and code.Must-Have Technical Skills Programming & Software • Strong proficiency in C++ and Python • Hands-on experience with ROS / ROS2 • Experience with Linux-based robotic systems • Understanding of SLAM, localization, and path planning algorithmsRobotics & Navigation • Experience integrating LiDAR (2D/3D), IMU, encoders, and depth cameras • Autonomous navigation stack implementation • Sensor fusion fundamentalsEmbedded & Integration • Experience with Raspberry Pi / STM32 / ESP32 • Basic embedded firmware understanding • Hardware-software debugging experienceSimulation & Control • Experience with Gazebo / NVIDIA Isaac Sim / Webots • Strong fundamentals in control systems (PID, kinematics, dynamics)Good to Have • SolidWorks mechanical design experience • PCB design (Altium / KiCad / Eagle) • Matlab/Simulink for control modeling • ABB RobotStudio or industrial robotic arm programming • PLC programming exposure • Computer Vision (OpenCV, object detection, segmentation)Qualifications • B.E./B.Tech / M.E./M.Tech in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, ECE, or related field • 1–2 years of experience in robotics / autonomous systems / industrial automation • Experience in AMR/AGV/Drone/Industrial Robotics projects is preferredWhat We’re Looking For • Strong problem-solving mindset • Hands-on system builder (not purely theoretical) • Comfortable working across mechanical, electronics, and software domains • Ownership mindset and ability to drive R&D independently
