The ideal candidate will combine strong domain expertise in electrical metering with strategic leadership in emerging areas such asAMI ecosystems, IoT-enabled grid intelligence, data analytics, and digital utility transformation . Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management Own end-to-end product lifecycle for smart metering solutions including concept, validation, launch, and lifecycle optimization. Define product roadmaps aligned with regulatory mandates (e.g., smart metering rollouts), market trends, and digital utility transformation initiatives. Identify opportunities in advanced applications such asAMI/AMR deployments, demand response, prepaid metering, DER integration, and energy-as-a-service models . Customer & Market Engagement Engage directly with utilities, EPCs, system integrators, and government bodies to understand evolving requirements and policy directions. Conduct product presentations, field demonstrations, and technical workshops for stakeholders. Translate market feedback into product enhancements and next-generation features. Innovation & Technology Leadership Collaborate closely with R&D to define product architecture includingIoT connectivity (RF, PLC, NB-IoT, 4G/5G), edge computing, and cloud integrations . Ensure alignment with evolving standards, interoperability frameworks, and cybersecurity requirements. Cross-Functional Coordination Act as the primary bridge between R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business teams. Lead internal product validation, usability testing, and readiness for production release. Work with production teams to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and cost optimization. Compliance, Testing & Certification Coordinate with external testing and certification laboratories for product approvals and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to national and international standards, metrology regulations, and cybersecurity frameworks. Drive continuous improvement through structured product validation and field trials. Tendering & Commercial Support Evaluate customer tender documents, technical specifications, and compliance matrices. Provide technical inputs for bids, deviations, and solution positioning. Support pre-sales and post-sales teams in solution design and deployment strategies. Deployment & Field Enablement Provide technical guidance during pilot deployments, rollouts, and field installations. Develop installation best practices, troubleshooting frameworks, and deployment playbooks. Gather field intelligence for continuous product and process improvements. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management Mentor cross-functional teams and drive a culture of innovation and accountability. Collaborate with leadership to define product vision and long-term growth strategy. Interface with ecosystem partners including communication module vendors, software platform providers, and analytics partners. Desired Functional Knowledge & Skills Technical Competencies Strong foundation inElectrical Engineering fundamentals , power systems, and single-phase & polyphase metering systems. Deep understanding ofsmart metering domain , including metrology, communication protocols, and AMI architectures. Experience in product validation acrosshardware, firmware, and software platforms . Exposure toIoT platforms, cloud-based applications, and data analytics ecosystemspreferred. Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts for connected devices (encryption, key management, secure firmware updates) is an advantage.
