Job Description

Job Description We’re seeking anEmbedded Systems & Automation Engineerto build the intelligence layer of our modular indoor farming systems. This is not a maintenance role. This is a build-from-zero ownership role. You will architect and implement the real-time control systems that power our farms - from sensor integration and actuator control to reliability engineering and field deployment.About Us Humanity must produce more food in the next four decades than we have in the last 8,000 years of agriculture combined. At Cosy, we are redesigning farming as a controlled, modular, and scalable system built next to where people live. We believe food production should be precise, reliable, and repeatable - not dependent on weather or distance. We are building environmental control machines that grow food.Budget: Upto 18 Lpa Location: Goregaon, Mumbai.Who You Are You are a hands-on embedded systems builder. You’ve shipped real hardware. You’ve debugged field failures. You understand that controlling physical systems is very different from writing software. You think in systems: Sensors → Control Logic → Actuators → Safety → Data → Deployment. You care about reliability more than features. You are comfortable making architecture decisions. You take ownership.Responsibilities Architect the embedded control system for modular farming units Select and implement microcontroller platforms (ESP32 / STM32 class preferred) Integrate environmental sensors (EC, pH, temperature, humidity, CO₂, flow, etc.) Develop real-time firmware in C/C++ Implement actuator control for pumps, valves, lighting, and climate systems Design fail-safes and redundancy mechanisms Handle power management and electrical stability considerations Develop IoT connectivity (MQTT / cloud sync / OTA updates) Lead testing, calibration, and field debugging Establish firmware architecture standards and version controlRequirements 2–5 years of experience in embedded systems / hardware automation Strong proficiency in C/C++ and python for microcontrollers Experience working with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi or similar) Understanding of real-time control systems and non-blocking architecture Experience integrating sensors and controlling actuators Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, MQTT) Basic understanding of power electronics and hardware debugging Experience deploying hardware systems outside of lab environmentsStrongly Preferred RTOS experience Experience in robotics, EV systems, industrial automation, or IoT hardware startups Experience designing systems that require high reliability Exposure to cloud integration for IoT systemsWhat We Offer High ownership from day one Direct impact on core product architecture Opportunity to build a scalable environmental control system from the ground up Collaborative, hands-on startup environment Fresh herbs to take home
