We are seeking an experienced Microbiologist to develop and scale-up fermentation-based active ingredients from lab to commercial production. The role involves strain optimization, media development, process control, and downstream processing to ensure high yield and stability. The candidate will troubleshoot scale-up challenges and support product performance and shelf-life studies. Strong expertise in industrial microbiology and hands-on fermentation experience is essential.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & Optimization Develop and optimizemicrobiology-based active products(enzymes, probiotics, prebiotics, bioactives, fermentation-derived actives) Strain handling, maintenance, andperformance optimization Media optimization foryield, stability, and cost reduction Process parameter optimization (pH, temperature, aeration, agitation, time)Scale-Up & Process Development Scale-up fromlab scale → pilot scale → production scale Hands-on experience withbioreactors / fermenters Troubleshooting during scale-up and batch failures Downstream processing:cell separation, filtration, concentration, drying (spray/freeze)Stability & Performance Evaluation Conductstability studiesand shelf-life optimization Evaluateactivity retentionpost-processing Support preservative systems and microbial control strategyRequired Skills: Strong knowledge ofindustrial microbiology & fermentation Experience inscale-up of microbial actives Hands-on knowledge ofmedia design and fermentation control Understanding ofdownstream processing Good analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills Experience incosmetic / nutraceutical / agro / pharma microbial actives is a plus Knowledge ofprebiotics, lysates, bio-ferments is a plus Exposure tocost optimization and commercial batches is a plusQualification: M.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Industrial Microbiology Minimum 3 yearsexperience inmicrobial product development and scale-up
