Job Description

Role Summary: To lead MEP tendering and estimation function for Buildings, Metro, Airport, and Industrial projects. To evaluate technical, commercial, and execution requirements; develop accurate and competitive estimates using first‑principles; and deliver high‑quality technical submissions aligned with organizational strategy.Key Responsibilities: Highly conversant with end‑to‑end MEP requirements, including system interfaces and cross‑functional coordination. Skilled in estimating HT/LT works such as DG systems, HT networks, and downstream low‑side electrical systems. Well‑versed in HVAC systems covering chillers, pumps, and cooling towers, along with plumbing and fire‑fighting services. Awareness of various codes such as NBC 2016 and IEEMA standards. Additionally proficient in ELV systems including CCTV, Fire Alarm, and BMS.1. Tender Review & Strategy– Study tender documents comprehensively and prepare a detailed Bid Synopsis, highlighting scope, risks, opportunities, and key deliverables. 2. Site Assessments– Conduct site visits to evaluate project constraints, logistics feasibility, utility availability, and prepare structured site visit reports. 3. Market Intelligence & Vendor Engagement– Obtain competitive market rates for all materials/equipment; engage OEMs and suppliers using strong industry network; identify capable subcontractors and prepare complete subcontract adjudication. 4. Quantity Verification– Review and verify BoQ quantities with Engineering/Design teams to ensure accuracy and scope alignment. 5. Technical Specification Review– Analyse technical specifications, standards, and authority requirements to ensure correct system selection, compliance, and cost impact assessment. 6. Estimation & Costing (LMP/First Principles)– Prepare detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, overheads, risk provisions, and project phasing. Incorporate benchmarking, historical norms, and value‑engineering alternatives. 7. Management Approvals– Present estimates, assumptions, risks, and commercial positioning to management for final approval. 8. Technical Submissions– Prepare high‑quality documents including Method Statements, Execution Plans, Workflows, Construction Programmes, Resource Histograms, Logistics Plans, Risk Registers, and Staff Deployment Plans. 9. Cross‑Functional Coordination– Collaborate with BD, Planning, Contracts, Procurement, Finance, and Engineering to ensure unified and compliant tender submissions. 10. Stakeholder & Client Interface– Participate in pre‑bid meetings, clarifications, and technical discussions with clients, consultants, and partners. 11. Bid Governance– Ensure tender compliance, maintain documentation, track tender outcomes, and implement continuous improvements in estimation accuracy and tendering efficiency.Skills & Experience: Education: • B.E. / B. Tech – Electrical / Mechanical Engineering • Min 20 Years of Experience in MEP Estimation and tendering.Technical Competencies: • First‑principles/LMP estimation • MEP systems costing (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, ELV) • Vendor/OEM negotiations & rate finalisation • Value engineering & cost optimisation • Market analysis & benchmarking • Tender governance and documentationSoftware Skills: • Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and estimation templatesLeadership & Behavioural Skills: • Cross‑functional coordination • Stakeholder management • Team mentoring & capability building • Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities
