Job Responsibilities in brief:To develop effective systems and procedures for professional management of the Purchase & Stores functions to relive the promoters from these activities and to support the increasing volumes. After stabilizing Purchase & Stores functions, to develop the strategy for implementing Supply Chain Management (SCM) in line with modern management practices and as required by key customers. Developing reliable supplier base for ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, refractories & other steel plant consumables and electrical and mechanical spares and components and for various services including transport contracts. Review and rationalization of supplier base retaining only the reliable suppliers to drive quality and optimize cost. Develop and implement suppliers’ quality management activities KPIs. Ensure availability of all materials at optimum cost. Improvement of delivery periods. Supplier base rationalization. Development of effective storage system.Reporting Structure: ED/COO- MD Reportees : Over 10 executives and supervisors in Purchase & StoresDesired Attributes: Qualifications: A graduate engineer or CA with relevant experience (An MBA degree will be an added advantage).Experience: At least 20 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles from steel plant, foundries and engineering industry in promoter managed companies.Key skills: Deft negotiation skills and cost consciousness.
