We partner with Private Equity clients and their Portfolio Companies across diverse sectors, including but not limited to Retail, CPG, Healthcare, Media & Entertainment, Technology, and Logistics. O&T team members work supporting management teams to streamline core finance processes, upgrade controllership functions, accelerate close and financial reporting, support audit readiness, implement technical accounting policies, and stabilize the finance function during periods of transition or rapid growth. Join us and experience a better way to work!Role overview: The Business Director at Accordion’s O&T team will own multiple client relationships and provide operational and technical oriented thought partnership across accounting and finance transformation initiatives. (S)he will oversee multiple project teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical accounting, controllership, audit readiness, and finance operations services. The Business Director will also identify opportunities for deeper client engagement by proactively uncovering process gaps, operational risks, and value-creation opportunities within the finance function.What will you do: Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s accounting, financial and operational challenges to proactively recommend solutions that can deliver results. Create value for clients by leading the problem-solving process across finance operations and technical accounting, bringing an independent, experienced perspective. Engage regularly with CFOs, Controllers, and other C-suite leaders, partnering with them as a trusted advisor on operational and technical accounting matters. Lead people development initiatives, ensuring skill building, coaching, and career progression for team members while fostering a culture of rigor, accountability, and hands-on execution. Act with an enterprise mindset, taking on responsibilities beyond day-to-day client delivery to support the broader growth of the Operational &Technical accounting practice—whether through thought leadership, internal initiatives, or capability building. Partner with Accordion team members across the globe to ensure seamless A+ execution for clients, while overseeing and reviewing the work product of local junior team members.Ideally, you should have: Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields from reputable institutions. Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant designation and/or MBA in Finance are strongly preferred. Ability to interpret and apply U.S. GAAP, IFRS and other accounting standards.Should have 7+ years of experience in accounting, audit, controllership, technical accounting, financial operations, or related fields. Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities to identify operational gaps, interpret complex accounting guidance, diagnose process issues, and recommend practical, execution-ready solutions in real time Ability to communicate complex accounting and operational concepts clearly, tailoring both written and verbal communication to CFOs, Controllers, auditors, and cross-functional teams. Strong multi-tasking skills to manage multiple finance and accounting transformation projects across diverse industries and tight PE timelines.
