Trusted partner to leading government organizations and PSUs for joint development and long-term service delivery.Role Overview: Design Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end electronic design, development, prototyping, and testing of advanced electro-optical products such as thermal imagers, night vision systems, and weapon upgrade kits. The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating electronic hardware systems with strong focus on basic electronics, discrete component–based circuit design and microcontroller-based embedded systems design . The role involves end-to-end hardware ownership, from schematic design using fundamental electronic elements to PCB development, hardware bring-up, embedded firmware programming, testing, and documentation.Key Responsibilities:Electronics Design & Development: Design electronic circuits usingboth Active and Passive electronic building blocks,Digital ,analog and mixed-signal circuitsincluding power supplies (LDO, SMPS), signal conditioning, sensor interfaces, ADC/DAC front ends, and EMI/ESD protection circuits. Develop 32 bit microcontroller -based hardwareusing MCUs such as ARM,PIC, AVR, ATMEL, STM32, ESP32,TI, Renesas, etc. Integration ofFPGAin the hardware and writing the basicRTL codefor the Performcomplete schematic design , component selection, devise BOM qualification criteria , derating analysis, and hardware calculations for reliability and thermal performance. Design and reviewmultilayer PCBs Design Lay out, including high-speed digital routing, analog layout practices, grounding, shielding, and power integrity. Support design validation, design-for-manufacturing (DFM), and design-for-testability (DFT). Understanding ofBoot loaderandBare Board bringupLow-leveldevice driverand their development. Ensure integration with mechanical and optical elements verticals for seamless product development.2. Testing, Debugging & Lab Work: Conduct Hardwaretesting and debuggingusing lab tools such asDSO, DMM, Logic Analyser,etc. Perform root cause analysis for failures ,Non-compliances and support corrective design actions. Assist in prototype development, functional validation, and pre-production testing and validation.3. OEM & Technology Interaction: Source and evaluate global/localOEM components(thermal cores, lasers, microcontrollers, etc.) based on obsolescence, cost, and availability. Liaise with OEMs, DRDO labs, CSIR, SAMEER, and private labs for testing (EMI/EMC) and technology collaboration.4. Project & Documentation Management: Maintain completedesign documentation : requirement analysis, system architecture, schematic, BOM, testing reports, ECNs, etc. Prepare technical brochures, assembly/disassembly guides, and technology notes on ICCD, CMOS, SWIR/LWIR, etc. Ensure ECN control, SAP codification, and BOM finalization and uploading. 5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Mechanical, Optical, and SCM teams for product housing, procurement, and timely execution. Work with Engineering & Project teams on client-specific tenders (RFI/RFP). Submit periodic updates, reports, and MIS to RM/HOD.6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Analyze global technology trends and competitive products. Recommend in-house projects and contribute to joint development with DRDO/CSIR where feasible. Improve production techniques and address field feedback/improvement points.Preferred Skills & Tools: Strong experience inElectronic Circuit Design ,Embedded Systems , and PCB development. Proficiency inEmbedded Programming(C/ C++ ) for platforms likeESP32, PIC, STM32 , etc. Hands-on experience withlab testing tools : CRO, DSO, Logic Analyzer, etc. Familiarity with SAP for BOM and inventory management is a plus.Qualifications & Experience: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Embedded Systems. 5-8 years of relevant experience in electronic product design & development. Experience in theopto-electronics, defense, or Hardcore embedded design systemsindustry will be preferred.
