Function Name:BMS HW EngineerExperience:3-8 YearsLocation:Bengaluru, Karnataka.Notice Period:Immediate to 30 days.Area of Responsibility:Design and development of Battery management System (BMS) hardware, and product validation including all BMS functions and related sub-components Participate activities: Design reviews Requirements definition/management BMS System Architecture design and benchmarking Generate test plans and test plan, test report reviews Involvement in systems FMEAs and management of product DFMEA System and component feature and BMS HW implementation planning Responsible to deliver the System Design Specifications & the Statements of Work for all assigned projects within the HV Battery portfolio. Development of BMS HW according to international standards and norms Coordinate with application software development, test validation and mechanical design teams when needed Ensure all requirements are captured and monitored. Be responsible for EE elements of the SysFMEA, functional safety and ensuring relevant preventative control measures. Monitor system issues and assist in firefighting and ensure lessons learned are captured in component/system requirements. Assess system HV strategies, develop and propose improvements to vehicle and component level strategies, propose validation and gain buy-in from stakeholders. Lead the technical discussions to deliver robust fault free designs through the application of Concurrent Engineering disciplines including DFMEA, DFA, DFM, Robustness, etc. Agree and sign off the component/system requirements with different stakeholders for each domain based on gateway requirements Involvement during vehicle system architecture and strategy discussions to meet BMS HW requirements and ensure all functional safety requirements are captured. HW design engineer must have in depth knowledge of HV Battery system regulations, and HW design principles. Previous experience of HV Battery, BMS features and functions, power electronics and electronic HW design knowhow is essential to support DVPR reviews.Knowledge / Experience:Strong Hardware design skills with a good track record of delivering projects on time. Experience in schematic & layout design, component selection, Layout constraints, and IPC rules. Experience in automotive/industrial power electronics. Understanding of component selection process, worst case calculation and simulation of sub-systems to finalize key components Expertise in HW design optimization and variant management for a product Working experience with Standards like ECE R100, ISO 26262, ISO 16949 and GBT etc. Documentation of DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings. Automotive development processes. Knowledge of ASPICE will be an added advantage. Previous HW design experience at tier one automotive systems. Experience using DOORS Systems or any other platform to manage system/components requirements. Delivery with FDD methodology - functional flow, physical flow, logic flow Strong track record of delivering significant high value business and delivering to very tight timescales Driven to delivering high quality projects, on time and budget, beyond customer expectations.Essential:Degree in Electronics/Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering. 4-6 years of relevant experience in HW design and development Able to anticipate, translate and develop customer requirements into tangible feature developments in hardware Expertise in automotive toolchains including Diagnostic Tools, Vector Tools, CANalyzer and CANoe etc. Expertise in communication protocols such as CAN/LIN/Flexray etc. Expertise in product design, develop & DV at cell, module and battery pack systems Working experience with Standards like ECE R100, ISO 26262, ISO 16949 and GBT etc. Experience with EE Architecture and understanding the thermal management and cooling systems (component/system). Understanding of Vehicle system elements in EV (VCU, OBD and PDU etc.) Able to actively participate in system FMEAs and related validation activities. Ability to build relationships and influence customers Experience of HV Battery, BMS and system development and the related New Product Introduction processes
