Role Overview The Transition Manager – IT Shared Services is responsible for leading the end-to-end transition of IT services and capabilities into a centralized shared services model. This role will drive complex global IT transition projects across multiple geographies and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations while enabling technology-driven transformation. Operating from our Sulzer Business Services Pune hub, the position focuses on program and project management, governance, stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, and application of best-in-class transition methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in IT transition management, change management, process optimization, and delivery excellence across infrastructure, applications, and support services, aligning all initiatives with our global IT strategy. Key Responsibilities 1. Transition Planning & Execution Develop and execute comprehensive transition plans for migrating IT services (infrastructure, application support, service desk) into the centralized shared services framework. Plan, manage, and monitor IT transition projects aligned with global centralization strategy, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Apply structured transition methodologies (e.g., ITIL, PMP) to ensure risk mitigation and operational stability. 2. Program & Project Leadership Lead cross-functional IT transition and transformation initiatives across multiple geographies and systems. Manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within scope. 3. Stakeholder Engagement Build strong relationships with global and regional IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external vendors. Facilitate clear communication and alignment between cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution. 4. Governance & Compliance Establish and maintain governance frameworks for transition programs. Ensure adherence to organizational policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the transition process. 5. Knowledge Management Develop and implement knowledge transfer plans to ensure continuity of operations post-transition. Maintain documentation repositories, transition playbooks, and training materials for scalability and future use. 6. Change Management & Adoption Drive change management initiatives to support adoption of new IT processes, tools, and governance models. Execute change initiatives, fostering acceptance and minimizing resistance from impacted teams. 7. Service Optimization & Innovation Identify opportunities for IT service standardization, automation, and digital enablement within the shared services model. Collaborate with IT SMEs and technology providers to integrate best practices and innovative solutions. 8. Risk Management Assess and proactively mitigate risks related to IT transitions, including data security, business continuity, and compliance. Define and monitor KPIs to measure transition success and ongoing service performance.Skills Requirement Technical & Functional IT Transition Management Expertise – Proven experience in end-to-end IT service migration (infrastructure, applications, service desk). Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Or Master’s degree in technology management, Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent. Professional Certifications Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) • IT Service Management Certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation or higher) Certifications in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) • Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe) Experience 8+ years of experience in IT program/project management, with at least 3–5 years in transition or transformation roles. Proven track record of leading large-scale IT transitions involving multiple geographies and systems. Experience in stakeholder management at senior leadership level and working in a global, multicultural environment. Strong background in governance, compliance, and risk management for IT projects. Exposure to shared services environments or Global Capability Centers (GCCs). Experience with automation, digital enablement, and process optimization initiatives. Familiarity with cloud migration strategies and hybrid IT landscapes.
