Job Description

We are looking for an experienced India Tax Manager to lead and manage direct and indirect tax compliance for India operations. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, managing statutory requirements, coordinating audits, and maintaining compliance with Indian tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and well-versed in Indian tax compliance frameworks.Key Responsibilities: Direct Tax Compliance Preparation, review, and filing of corporate income tax returns under the Income-tax Act Oversee advance tax computations, TDS/TCS compliance, and withholding tax filings Preparation of quarterly/ annual tax computations, deferred tax workings, and tax provisions Ensure timely filing of tax returns, forms, and statutory disclosures Ensuring timely accounting of tax entries and regular monitoring of tax related ledgers Indirect Tax Compliance (GST) Oversee GST compliance including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, and reconciliations Manage input tax credit (ITC) reconciliations with books and GST portal Ensure compliance with e-invoicing, e-way bills, and related GST requirements Coordinate GST audits and respond to departmental queries Statutory & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Companies Act requirements related to tax disclosures Coordinate tax audits under Section 44AB and manage audit documentation Maintain tax calendars, trackers, and compliance checklists Monitor changes in Indian tax laws and assess compliance impact Team & Stakeholder Management Coordinate with external consultants, auditors, and tax authorities Collaborate with finance, legal, and other departments to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business processes and transactions Support internal and external audits from a tax compliance perspectiveQualifications & Experience: Chartered Accountant (CA) required 6–10 years of experience in direct tax and GST compliance Experience with tax software and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. Strong understanding of Indian tax laws and regulatory requirements Exposure to transfer pricing compliance (documentation, filings) Experience in shared services or multinational environments Process improvement and compliance automation experience Tax Accounting knowledge
