Backend Developer – AWS Serverless & Microservices (Infra Ownership) Experience:4–7 Years Role Overview We are looking for a Backend Developer who will own and manage backend APIs built on AWS Serverless and microservices architecture, along with infra-level responsibilities. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Node.js, AWS serverless services, and database management, and the ability to handle production-grade cloud infrastructure. This is not just an API development role. The candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, scaling, monitoring, and maintaining backend services and the underlying infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Backend Development 1 Design and develop backend APIs using Node.js 2 Build serverless microservices using AWS Lambda and API Gateway 3 Implement API orchestration and data aggregation across multiple services 4 Write clean, modular, scalable, and maintainable backend code AWS Serverless & Infrastructure Ownership 1 Own and manage AWS serverless infrastructure for all backend APIs 2 Work extensively with AWS Lambda, API Gateway (with caching), CloudWatch, and S3 3 Manage event-driven and asynchronous processing flows 4 Handle API versioning, throttling, retries, and error handling 5 Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of backend systems Microservices Architecture 1 Maintain and evolve a microservices-based backend architecture 2 Handle inter-service communication and failure scenarios 3 Debug and resolve production infrastructure and API issues 4 Optimize latency, reliability, and cost across services Databases 1 Design and manage data models using MongoDB and MySQL 2 Write optimized queries and handle schema migrations 3 Ensure data consistency, performance, and reliability DevOps & Infrastructure 1 Work with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and changes 2 Support ECS Fargate services for containerized backend systems (e.g., CMS) 3 Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions 4 Manage multiple environments such as UAT and Production Required Skills 1 Strong backend development experience with Node.js 2 Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, S3) 3 Solid understanding of microservices architecture (serverless-first) 4 Strong experience with MongoDB and MySQL 5 Infrastructure knowledge including Terraform, ECS, and basic ALB concepts 6 REST API design and best practices 7 Git version control and production deployment experience 8 should be familiar with React Native and mobile development. Good to Have 1 DynamoDB experience 2 API Gateway caching and performance tuning 3 CI/CD exposure using GitHub Actions or similar tools 4 Redis or caching concepts 5 AWS cost optimization and Well-Architected Framework knowledge What We’re Looking For 1 Ability to handle backend and infrastructure end-to-end 2 Comfortable debugging live production issues 3 Experience working with AWS-managed services at scale 4 Strong understanding of real-world serverless microservices architectures
