TheExecutive Director, in collaboration with key stakeholders,is responsible for providing strategic oversight, and operational management for the product and test development, customer support and sales for Autonomous Solutions Business Area from Hexagon R&D India, in Hyderabad. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the site strategy, fostering innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of software products that align with organizational goals and market demands. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and inspirational leadership.Role:R&D India Head – Autonomous Solutions Reporting to:Vice President, Products & Services Experience:15 years + Location:HyderabadOrganizational Responsibilities:Responsible for Product Development and Delivery for Autonomous Solutions (AS) Product line (dealing with customer GNSS applications software development and testing, GNSS receiver firmware testing, eBusiness systems development and testing, all as part of global teams) Responsible for a small team of customer support and sales staff (dealing with company hardware and software) Define the strategy for AS Product development teams @ R&D India in close collaboration with Global stakeholders to meet the business needs efficiently and grow the team in numbers and ownership, when needed. Regular interaction with Global Stakeholders to effectively manage their expectations with a quick and focused resolution mindset Responsible for Project Performance, Monitoring and Reporting of Projects, including the teams’ achievements and projects’ highs and lows Works with the leadership teams to actively monitor and drive software and firmware team efficiencies to ensure the most optimal velocities are achieved while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery matching the global development and quality standards Contribute to R&D India level projects as member of leadership team of R&D India Build a diverse, equal opportunity and inclusive team and culture within the organizationPeople Responsibilities:Lead a team of 40+ employees through managers Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs in the AS engineering industry Defining Goals and objectives for the AS Business Area and handling Performance appraisals in a matrix setup Develop and groom existing and new members in the team to handle future technology and people management challenges Manage attrition and ensure a culture of openness & meritocracy Ensure compliance to company policies and proceduresEducational RequirementsBachelor or Master of Engineering in Electronics/Computer Science or equivalent qualification from an institute of reputeSkill requirementsProven experience in a senior leadership role, people management of large teams demonstrating operational management expertise, stakeholder collaboration, talent development, governance and reporting Proven experience in managing diverse groups including front end development teams and system test teams an advantage. Knowledge of Software development process and exposure to AI tools and techniques an advantage Direct experience of agile software development processes like Scrum using JIRA, AZDO etc Practical experience monitoring team velocities and driving continuous improvements initiatives to increase team efficiencies and communication Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willing to work under pressure and tight deadlines Experience in Enterprise Software Product design and development (Desktop, Web and Mobile Applications) Ability to work in a collaborative mode with Technology and Organizational leaders to achieve organizational goals across multiple global sites including India, Canada, UK and USA Possess a broad understanding on how development work translates to the business end-user Strong interpersonal and technical skills to motivate and mentor the employees Mentor team leaders to progress on their professional skills Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and negotiation skillsAbout Hexagon:Hexagon is a global leader in digital reality solutions, combining sensor, software and autonomous technologies.
