Job Title

Position: Head – Civil Projects Location: MumbaiKey Responsibilities: The position is accountable for achieving investment project objectives – EHS, quality, cost, and schedule – related to Civil engineering discipline of entire portfolio of projects. The position is the focal point of responsibility and authority overseeing the Civil, Structural, and Interior (CSI) aspects of these investment projects from conceptualization & planning to execution & commissioning. Project Proposals: • Evaluation of land options for green field projects with Chief/ Head – Projects. • Study existing infrastructure layout with plant engineering team. • Connect with Head – Projects to understand the project CSI requirements, define project CSI scope and prepare estimate for CSI discipline costs including costs for construction and statutory approvals. • Repair and structural strengthening of existing plants. Project Management: • Leading a team of Sr. Managers/ Managers- Civil to plan and execute green field, brownfield and divisional projects - Civil, structural and interiors (CSI) • Collaborate with Head- Projects, site operations, EHS and logistics teams for Civil detail design while engaging services of external engineering companies/ architects / consultants as required. • Collaborate with Head- Projects and DEC in finalisation of plot plans, infrastructure design (levels, roads, drains, u/g services), architectural layout, building design type & plan - all aspect of CSI design. • Identify and implement cost effective, time effective technology/ techniques in design and construction. • Define execution methodology for CSI works. Evaluation and rating of contractors for CSI works. • Define & lead the tendering, negotiations, and award process for CSI work contracts. • Oversee the CSI activities at site with support from the local site teams/ Civil engineers / DEC construction managers; identify and remove constraints/ bottlenecks in execution of work. • Provide documents support for statutory application. • Communicate and review project deliverables with team on regular basis. Contribute in monthly project status reports (OAAP format) for IRM and DRM reviews. • Support Head- Projects for timely completion, commissioning & Hand Over (HOTO) of projects • Engage in financial close out of project with Capitalization of Assets with Finance team. Safety, Quality & People: • Comply to EHS requirements and enforce provisions of construction safety manual on project sites. • Facilitate Sites in Development of Protocol for Induction of New Contractors and PIL Employees at site and key expectations along with site safety rules. • Ensure QAP compliance during construction at site in coordination with site team. Page 2 of 2 • Implementing role-based training to improve skills and competence of team members. • Actively support team building by proper coordination of tasks and responsibilities within the project team. • Coaching the team members on work processes and tools to derive maximum efficiency while working. Key Skills: • Should have exposure working on mid to large green filed projects. • Should have experience of handling multiple brown filed projects at a time. • Should be able to lead detailed engineering & project execution team (Direct reportee 8 to 10) people. • Should be able to manage annual Capital expenditure on civil & structure 100 to 150 Cr on multiple projects. • Technical skills in Project proposal, Detailed engineering, Project executionExperience:18 to 20 years of relevant experience in driving large scale civil projects. Experience of driving Civil projects in Chemical/FMCG industry preferred. Education :B.E/B.Tech (Civil) with relevant Masters degree preferred
