Job Title:Mechanical Design Engineer (Static & Rotating Equipment) Location:Chennai, India Experience:5 to 20 Years Industry:Oil & Gas (EPC / EPCM Projects)Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our detail engineering team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically handling EPC or EPCM projects. You will be responsible for the detailed design and engineering of both Static and Rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with international codes and client specifications. Key Responsibilities: Static Equipment:Perform detailed design and engineering of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Columns, and Storage Tanks. Prepare specifications, data sheets, and material take-offs (MTO). Rotating Equipment:Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and perform technical bid evaluations (TBE) for Pumps, Compressors, and Turbines. Detail Engineering:Produce and review fabrication drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and layout plans. Vendor Management:Review vendor documents and drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications. Compliance:Ensure all designs adhere to international codes and standards such as ASME Sec VIII, TEMA, API 610, API 617, and API 650. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5 to 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry within an EPC or EPCM environment. Proficiency in design software (e.g., PV Elite, Compress, CAESAR II) and 3D modeling tools is preferred.
