About us: Exide Energy Solutions Limited (EESL) is one of the fastest growing companies who has vision to solve social issues regarding energy, environment, resource, etc with producing lithium-ion battery products. Exide Energy Solutions Ltd is setting up India’s first Giga plant to manufacture Lithium Ion Cells in Bengaluru.Qualification and Experience: CA / ICWAwith 10-20 Years of Hands of Experience in FinanceRoles and Responsibility: 1. Annual Operating Plan (AOP) & Budgeting Coordinate preparation of plant-wise and corporate-level budgets (Revenue, Opex, Capex). Align business assumptions with production volumes, energy inputs, raw material forecasts (e.g., lithium, graphite, cobalt). Consolidate budgets from SCM, Production, HR, and R/&D into a company-wide AOP. Provide variance analysis against previous year/forecast, and run simulations based on volume and price scenarios. 2. Forecasting & Rolling Estimates Prepare rolling monthly/quarterly forecasts for sales, EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow. Adjust assumptions dynamically based on raw material indexation, global commodity trends, and government subsidies (PLI, FAME). Integrate production efficiency trends (yield, scrap, energy usage) into forecast updates. Track customer demand pipeline (e.g., EV OEM orders) and reflect in revenue projections. 3. Cost Analysis & Control Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) across key inputs (raw materials, energy, labor, depreciation). Monitor plant-level cost drivers: utility cost (per kWh), material yield, cell scrap, and line downtime. Support cost optimization initiatives in collaboration with operations and procurement. Benchmark costs across multiple plants and identify variances to standard/budget. 4. Capex Planning & Monitoring Support preparation of plant-level and corporate-level Capex budgets (machinery, buildings, automation, R/&D). Track Capex spend vs. budget and highlight delays, cost overruns, or under-utilization. Evaluate ROI, IRR, and payback period for new projects (e.g., cell line expansion, BMS labs). Provide financial modelling for greenfield expansion or joint ventures. 5. Management Reporting & Dashboards Prepare and circulate monthly MIS packs including P/&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Develop dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud) to show KPIs like: EBITDA/ton Cell yield % Plant utilization Working capital cycle Highlight key risks and opportunities in performance review meetings (MPR/QBR). 6. Strategic Business Planning Support long-term business planning (3–5 years), aligned with EV/ESS market demand, technology roadmap, and capacity build-out plans. Evaluate multiple scenarios – demand shifts, technology upgrades (LFP vs NMC), policy impacts. Assist in fund-raising models (equity, debt) and investor presentations with finance leadership. Develop models for sensitivity analysis (currency, inflation, interest rate impact). 7. Industry & Competitor Analysis Track and report on global and domestic trends in Lithium-ion battery manufacturing. Benchmark operational and financial KPIs with competitors (local and global gigafactories). Monitor key market developments: Raw material price fluctuations (lithium, nickel, graphite) EV penetration trends India’s PLI scheme and related subsidy impacts Conduct competitor profiling and support management in strategic decisions (e.g., technology licensing, M/&A). 8. Financial Systems, Tools & Data Integration Maintain financial planning models in Excel, SAP BPC, or Anaplan (if applicable). Ensure integration of ERP (e.g., SAP S/4HANA) data with planning and BI tools. Automate data extraction and reporting processes for accuracy and timeliness. Ensure version control, audit trail, and standardization across plants for FP/&A reports. 9. Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with: Operations – for production forecasts and plant efficiency inputs. Supply Chain – for procurement cost trends and inventory positions. Engineering/Projects– for capex and plant expansion financials. HR– for manpower budgeting and productivity KPIs. Support leadership in strategic discussions and board reviews. 10. Compliance, Governance & Audit Support Ensure alignment of financial plans with accounting standards (Ind AS). Support statutory and internal audits with forward-looking financial insights and assumptions. Ensure adherence to internal FP/&A processes and controls, including document retention and approval workflows.Mandatory Skills: Financial Reporting General Ledger & Closing Management Fixed Assets Accounting Accounts receivable and payable process management Credit risk assessment and control Cash flow and working capital optimization Bad debt provisioning and recovery Internal controls and compliance Cost accounting and variance analysis Inventory management and valuation Team Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementDesired Skills: Strong experience in Monthly, quarterly and year end closing of books of the company.
