Job Title: Professor / Associate ProfessorDepartment / Function: Radiodiagnosis (CDSIMER)Education: Medical A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).Professional Teaching & Research Experience:Broad Specialities (MD/MS/DNB)Super Specialities (DM/M.Ch./DrNB)8 years post PG experience (for Professor), 5 years post PG experience (for Associate Professor)At least 3 years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the concerned Specialty in a permitted / recognized / approved medical teaching institution.5 years post super specialty experienceAt least 3 years teaching experience as Associate Professor in the concerned Specialty in a permitted / recognized / approved medical teaching institution.Should have at least four Research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) [only original papers, metaanalysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed, Central Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index, Expanded Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ) will be considered] as per the recent NMC publication guidelines and amendments thereto.Eligibility Parameters:Age: Not exceeding 70 yearsBasic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) Certification - Should have completed the Basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC.RBMET Training Certificate - Should have completed the basic course in Medical Education Technology from Institutions designated by NMC.Eligibility criteria is subject to amendments as per NMC guidelines - “Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, (Amendment), 2023 as per National Medical Commission notification No. C-19011/06/2022/NMC/Coord in reference to notification numbered NMC/MCI-23(I)/2021-MED.Job ContentTeach, guide, administer and conduct research in related specialty at teaching institutions.Key Areas of Responsibility:To impart theoretical and practical instructions to under-graduate / graduate / postgraduate medical students in addition to research activities along with AHS & Paramedical Students (as applicable).Teaching a requisite number of classes, providing guidance and supervision to graduate students, participating in departmental meetings, and providing academic support to other faculty members.Primary responsibilities include clinical, educational and academic activities.Clinical ResponsibilitiesA Radiologist is a medical doctor who specialises in identifying and treating conditions using imaging equipment. They are especially trained in creating and interpreting pictures of areas inside the body. Radiologists diagnose diseases and disorders of the human system by studying X Ray pictures of affected parts or seeing it on a fluoroscopic screen. Checks patients for the nature of the complaint. Decides on the type of X-ray picture to be taken in respect of diseased or affected parts of the body such as ulcers, fractures, lung diseases, etc. Gives patients where necessary certain drugs orally to render particular organs of the body opaque to X-rays. Takes X-ray picture or directs X-RAY TECHNICIAN to take X-ray picture of affected part. Studies developed X-ray film in the viewing box and assesses nature, location and magnitude of disease or injury. Adjusts and operates X-ray and other radiology machines for a specified period when necessary. May operate an image intensifier for study of movements of certain parts of the body like heart, lungs, etc.Examine, diagnose within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.He/she shall (wherever applicable) :provide proper care of O.P.D. / I.P.D. patients including emergency duties as per the respective council norms,be responsible for proper maintenance of the case and filing system in the department.supervise the hospital work being carried out by the residents and other junior faculty members in the department.The evolution of Radiodiagnosis as a modern specialty.Diagnosing diseases and disorders of human system by studying X-ray pictures of affected partsChecking patients for nature of complaint, and accordingly providing radiation treatmentDeciding on the type of X-ray pictures to be taken with respect to the diseased or affected part of the body, such as ulcers, fractures, lung diseases, etc.Keeping abreast with latest research, development techniques in the fields of imaging, etc.Administering certain drugs, to the patients, orally or by injections to render particular organ of the body opaque to X-raysTaking X-ray picture or directing the X-ray technician to take the X-ray picture of the affected partStudying developed X-ray film in viewing box and assessing nature, location and magnitude of disease or injuryInstructing X-ray machine operators about the required intensity on affected part of the body for specified periodOperating image intensifier for study of movements of certain parts of the body like heart, lungs, etc.Inter - departmental activities & Clinical Responsibilities (Wherever Applicable)-Participating in vertical and horizontal integrated teaching.Initiation and participation in continuing educational activitiesConsult seniors whenever necessary in the interest of the patient.To render patient care in the specialtyIntra - Departmental / College - Responsibilities -Audit process as per requirement.Representing the college at conferences and delivering presentations when necessary.University Related Responsibilities -Participation as Invigilator, as neutral observer, in the digital evaluation process.Representing the University at conferences and delivering presentations when necessary.Examination work such as organising, supervision and assessment etc. pertaining to the College and CDSIMER examination.Date: 21-02-2026Dr. D.
