Firewall and Network Security: • Understanding of firewall operations, rules, and access control. • Experience with Sophos Firewall will be an added advantage, including monitoring, rule configuration, and troubleshooting network access issues.2. Log Management and Rotation: • Proficient in log rotation and archiving practices on Windows Server. • Ability to configure scheduled log cleanups to manage disk space efficiently.3. Windows Server Network Configuration & Analysis: • Setup and manage static IPs, DNS, DHCP, gateways, and other network components. • Use tools like ipconfig, netstat, tracert, Wireshark, etc., for diagnosing and resolving network issues. • Handson tools like Telnet, Putty, WinSCP, FileZilla etc.4. Apache Tomcat Server Configuration and Monitoring: • Install, configure (Server.XML, WEB.XML etc.), monitor Apache Tomcat server and deployment of web application in Apache Tomcat on Windows Server. • Installation of JDK/ JRE and setting up system environment variable like PATH, JAVA_HOME, CATALINA_HOME • Understanding of version management tools like GIT, SVN • Monitor server logs, application logs, manage service startup/shutdown, tune memory usage, and troubleshoot application-level issues.5. Server Resource Monitoring and Performance Optimization: • Regularly monitor CPU, memory, and disk usage using tools like Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Performance Monitor. • Analyze performance bottlenecks and optimize services, scheduled tasks, and application resource usage.6. Load Balancer Support and Troubleshooting: • Basic knowledge of load balancer architecture (hardware or software-based). • Coordinate with data center teams to troubleshoot and fine-tune load balancing behaviour and routing issues.7. Incident and Service Request Handling: • Log and manage tickets on the hosting portal for incidents or service requests. • Communicate effectively with data center teams for prompt issue resolution and updates. • Understanding of tools like JIRA/ServiceNow8. Disk and Storage Management: • Perform disk expansion, new volume provisioning and storage cleanup in Windows using Disk Management, PowerShell, or third-party tools like Partition Magic. • Understand file system structures and volume types (NTFS, ReFS). • Understanding RAID, SAN, mounting external volume9. Active Directory Support: • Knowledge of Active Directory domain controllers, user and group management, and domain joins. • Experience with Group Policies, DNS replication, and AD troubleshooting is desirable. 10. Basic Linux Knowledge (Preferred): • Understanding of basic Linux commands and file system navigation. • Ability to perform simple administrative tasks (log viewing, service restarts, disk usage checks) is a plus.Essential Qualifications :1. B.E / B.Tech (Computer Science/IT or equivalent) / MCA with 6-10 years of relevant experience in Windows Server Administration. 2. Experience in Windows Server Administration (2012 R2, 2016, 2019). 3. Knowledge on Linux (RHE / Ubuntu / CentOS) will be treated as additional qualification.
