YOU'LL BE OUR : Jr. Retail & Space Designer YOU'LL BE BASED AT: Bengaluru YOU'LL BE ALIGNED WITH : Design Lead/Manager YOU'LL BE A MEMBER OF : Creative, MarketingABOUT THE ROLE:We’re looking for a Junior Retail & Space Designer with 1-2 years of industry experience to join our team at Ather Energy. We’re looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in design thinking, spatial composition, and visual sensibility, and is ready to apply those skills in real-world contexts. You’ll be part of a small, hands-on team that shapes how people experience Ather in the physical world, through our experience centers, exhibitions, events, and installations. The work here moves fast and so being adaptable, proactive, and communicative will go a long way.WHAT WILL I BE DOING AT ATHER?Functional responsibilities: Contribute to new spatial concepts, layouts and experience flows / user journeys, translate narratives, engineering / marketing / other stakeholder inputs, and design intent into coherent spatial ideas. Support design tasks across concept development, visualisation, and detailing, considering composition, lighting, materials, and user interaction with space. Should also support design reviews and iterative developments. Collaborate with marketing, sales and network expansion teams to refine existing concepts, align intent, maintain quality and design consistency in rolling out new retail spaces. Work closely with external teams (vendors, carpenters, fabricators, architectural agencies) to translate designs into well executed and intended built outcomes. Create and support space related presentations from early conceptual storytelling to polished stakeholder-ready documents.Operational responsibilities: Adapt designs to diverse site conditions & constraints, ensuring every Ather environment aligns with established design intent without compromising on quality or consistency. Manage inputs and requests from the retail expansion team and also external stakeholders - vendors, fabricators, carpenters, agencies etc, while maintaining clear boundaries and protecting design integrity. Uphold a high standard of quality, guiding teams whose understanding of craftsmanship or finish may differ, and ensuring execution matches the intended experience. Maintain clarity, organisation and continuity across multiple sites, tracking decisions, revisions and dependencies so that no detail is lost. Conduct site visits on ground assessments to understand practical challenges, resolve issues early, and ensure that the final build aligns with drawings and expectations.WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE & SKILLS DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE? Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience in spatial, retail, interior, exhibition, or experience design with real world project exposure.Technical Skills Ability to read and also translate design intent into civil / architectural drawings, models, documentation and presentations suited for reviews and execution. Proficiency with Sketchup, autocad, rhino, or blender. Adobe illustrator, photoshop is a bonus. Familiarity with materials, fabrication techniques, production constraints and how design decisions impact buildability. Bachelor's degree in space design, interior design or architecture, or an equivalent field.SOME ATTRIBUTES THAT I BRING TO THIS ROLE? No fast rule on academic requirements. We’re looking primarily for a notable quality of work in this domain and the experience mentioned. Bachelor of Design, Master of Design, Architecture / Space Design or any equivalent degree in art or design works as a bonus.
