The company’s core expertise spans large-scale UAV swarms, AI-enabled autonomous coordination, and persistent unmanned systems, all validated through rigorous operational deployment in real-world conflict environments.Position: HSE Officer (Health, Safety & Environment) Location: BengaluruHS&E Officer/ Manager is responsible for ensuring full compliance with statutory, environmental, occupational health, and safety requirements across Manufacturing and R&D operations. The role ensures safe working conditions, risk control, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement of EHS systems aligned with aerospace and advanced technology environments.Key Responsibilities:• Ensure compliance with applicable laws including Factories Act, Karnataka Factories Rules, Environment Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, E-Waste Rules, and Fire Safety Regulations. • Ensure all statutory licenses, consents, approvals, and renewals from the Directorate of Factories, KSPCB, and Fire Department are valid and up to date. • Act as the single point of contact during inspections, audits, and regulatory visits. • Maintain statutory registers, inspection records, compliance reports, returns, and correspondence. • Track and implement legal and regulatory updates related to EHS. • Implement, maintain, and improve ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (EMS) management systems. • Develop, review, and update EHS policies, SOPs, work instructions, and safe operating procedures. • Conduct internal audits, support external audits, and ensure closure of CAPA. • Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all activities. • Implement and control Permit to Work (PTW) systems for hot work, work at height, confined space entry, and electrical maintenance. • Monitor PPE compliance and enforce safety discipline on the shop floor and lab areas. • Authority to stop unsafe work and escalate safety issues to management. • Develop, maintain, and periodically test the On-Site Emergency Plan. • Plan and conduct fire drills, emergency evacuation drills, and mock scenarios. • Lead emergency response during incidents including fire, battery incidents, or injuries. • Ensure incident, accident, and near-miss reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and closure. • Coordinate/ participate with HR in all occupational health programs, including medical check-ups, first aid facilities, and emergency medical response. • Conduct EHS induction and task-specific safety training for employees and contractors. • Promote safety culture initiatives, toolbox talks, and employee engagement programs. • Ensure proper segregation, storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous waste, composite waste, chemical waste, lithium batteries, and e-waste as per KSPCB norms. • Maintain waste manifests, returns, and environmental records. • Ensure safe working practices in assembly, integration, composite lay-up, curing, trimming, sanding, and finishing operations. • Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of resins, adhesives, solvents, chemicals, and consumables. • Control risks related to composite dust exposure, and manual material handling. • Ensure safe storage, charging, testing, and handling of lithium-ion batteries and battery packs, including thermal runaway controls. • Ensure electrical, avionics, and production testing activities are conducted safely, including ESD controls and isolation practices. • Ensure safety controls during ground testing, test rigs, trial runs, ovens, autoclaves, curing chambers, compressors, and pressure systems. • Ensure periodic inspection and certification of fire protection systems, and electrical installations. • Conduct regular shop-floor safety walks and behaviour-based safety observations. • Ensure safety in R&D laboratories, prototype build areas, integration labs, and testing environments. • Ensure safe handling of new materials, experimental chemicals, batteries, avionics, propulsion systems, and test equipment. • Maintain EHS KPIs, dashboards, and management reports. • Analyse incident trends, near misses, and unsafe conditions to drive preventive actions and continual improvement. • Authority to stop unsafe activities, isolate hazardous conditions, and recommend disciplinary or corrective actions. • Accountable for statutory compliance, EHS system effectiveness, and site safety performance.Qualifications & Experience • Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Industrial Safety. • Diploma in Industrial Safety (DIS) or equivalent certification preferred. • 10 - 15 years of relevant EHS experience in aerospace, electronics, composites, automotive, or advanced manufacturing/R&D environments.
