Our 1000+ team members work remotely throughout the world, including in India,Europe, and the US.Overview The Migration Data Engineer plays a critical role in enabling seamless large-volume data migrations from legacy billing systems to Chargebee, bringing 2–3 years of relevant experience in data migration and engineering. This role is responsible for extracting, transforming, enriching, executing, and validating complex datasets while ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems. A strong focus is placed on identifying risks early, resolving data discrepancies, and minimizing business disruption throughout the migration lifecycle.Working closely with Migration Consultants, and other customer-facing teams, the Migrtion Data Engineer partners to translate business and technical requirements into reliable migration solutions. Large-Scale Data Migration & Transformation Hands-on experience designing and executing large-volume data migrations, including data extraction from legacy systems, complex transformations, enrichment, and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems. Data Engineering & Automation Expertise Strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines using scripting and automation (e.g., Python, ETL frameworks, APIs, SQL), with a focus on scalability, performance, and repeatability of migration processes. Data Validation, Reconciliation & Risk Management Proven ability to identify data discrepancies early, perform reconciliation across source and target systems, implement validation checks, and mitigate risks to minimize business and billing disruption during migrations.Qualifications/Skills required Analytical Thinking & Attention to Detail Strong ability to analyze complex datasets, identify discrepancies, trace root causes, and ensure high levels of data accuracy and integrity throughout the migration lifecycle. Collaboration & Communication Proven experience working closely with Migration Consultants, QA, and customer-facing teams to clarify requirements, explain technical constraints, and align on migration outcomes.
