Job Description

Skill set MBSE, SySML Modelling - Only with expertise in Hardware/Mechanical systems, MagicDraw, Cameo. Domain knowledgeRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in systems engineering with a strong focus on mechanical or mechatronic hardware. Deep, hands-on expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML. Proven proficiency with MagicDraw or Cameo Systems Modeler is essential. Robust knowledge of automotive hardware systems, particularly mechanical and mechatronic systems (e.g., steering, braking, suspension, wipers, latches). Demonstrated ability to work as a senior individual contributor, taking ownership of complex technical domains. Experience within the automotive industry and familiarity with its development processes and standards (e.g, ASPICE, ISO 26262). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a talent for abstracting complex mechanical interactions into clear, logical models.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering. INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or OMG Certified Systems Modelling Professional (OCSMP) certification. Experience integrating mechanical models with control software models in tools like MATLAB/Simulink. Familiarity with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, or Polarion. Knowledge of physical modeling and simulation tools (e.g., Adams, Amesim) and how they can inform or be driven by the system architecture. Understanding of CAD tools (like CATIA, SolidWorks) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to ensure alignment between the SysML model and the detailed mechanical design. Job DescriptionExpert-level Senior Systems Engineer with a specialization in the model-based design of complex mechanical and mechatronic hardware systems. The ideal candidate is a technical authority with extensive experience in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to the automotive sector. You will be responsible for creating and managing the system architecture for critical vehicle hardware, such as steering systems, braking systems, windscreen assemblies, and other mechanical systems. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on deep technical work, perfect for an engineer who thrives on solving complex architectural challenges using SysML and MagicDraw.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the subject matter expert for the systems architecture of key mechanical and mechatronic vehicle systems. Develop, maintain, and own the comprehensive SysML models in MagicDraw/Cameo that define the architecture, interfaces, and behavior of systems like steering, closures, and wipers. Translate vehicle-level features and stakeholder requirements into precise, verifiable engineering requirements for mechanical and hardware-software systems. Create detailed functional, logical, and physical architecture models, ensuring a clear line of sight from requirements to implementation. Establish and enforce rigorous traceability within the model, linking requirements to architectural elements, design components, and validation test cases. Perform in-depth trade-off analyses to optimize system designs for performance, cost, weight, and manufacturability. Work intimately with mechanical design, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure the physical design aligns perfectly with the architectural model. Define and document all system and subsystem interfaces, including mechanical linkages, electrical connectors, and data protocols. Serve as a key technical resource during system integration, providing architectural clarity to diagnose and resolve complex cross-domain issues.
