Job Description: HVAC Engineer – Data Center Job Title: HVAC Engineer – Data Center Experience: 5–10 Years Location: Pan India / International Projects Industry: Data Center / Critical Infrastructure Employment Type: Full Time Role Summary The HVAC Engineer – Data Center will be responsible for thedesign, execution, testing, commissioning, and operation supportof HVAC systems forhyperscale and retail data center facilities . The role ensureshigh availability, energy efficiency, redundancy, and compliancewith global data center standards. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering Design HVAC systems for data centers includingchilled water systems, air-cooled / water-cooled chillers, AHUs, CRAH, In-Row cooling, DX and VRF systems . Performheat load calculations , airflow analysis, redundancy planning (N, N+1, 2N). PrepareBasis of Design (BoD) , design reports, layouts, single line diagrams, and technical specifications. Ensure compliance withASHRAE TC 9.9, TIA-942, Uptime Instituteand local codes. Supportenergy-efficient cooling strategiessuch as hot aisle/cold aisle containment and free cooling where applicable. Execution & Site Management Oversee HVAC installation activities in coordination with civil, electrical, and IT teams. Review and approveshop drawings, method statements, and material submittals . Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for timely execution and quality control. Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved drawings, safety standards, and project schedules. Testing, Commissioning & Validation Plan and executepre-commissioning, commissioning, and integrated system testing (IST) . Conduct functional testing of chillers, pumps, AHUs, CRAH units, and controls. Coordinate with commissioning agents and third-party auditors. SupportUptime Institute Tier certificationreadiness and audits. BIM & Coordination Review and coordinateBIM models (Revit, Navisworks, Revizto)for clash detection and system integration. Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings. Ensure HVAC systems integrate seamlessly withBMS, EMS, and DCIM platforms . Commercial & Vendor Management PrepareBOQs, technical bid analysis (TBA)and support vendor selection. Evaluate HVAC equipment based on performance, reliability, and lifecycle cost. Assist in billing, cost control, variation management, and documentation. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong knowledge ofdata center cooling concepts and critical infrastructure . Hands-on experience withCRAH, In-Row cooling, chilled water plants, cooling towers, and air distribution systems . Familiarity withASHRAE TC 9.9 thermal guidelines . Knowledge ofUptime Tier I–IV requirements . Experience inhyperscale and colocation data center projectspreferred.
