Job Title:Quantity Surveyor | Highway Design Engineer | Structural Engineer Location:Jaipur, Rajasthan (On-site) Job Type:Full-time Industry:Civil Engineering | Construction | MiningAbout the Role We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor | Highway Design Engineer | Structural Engineer with tender estimation and quantity take-off capabilities. The role involves preparing tender estimates by thoroughly reviewing tender documents, technical schedules, drawings, and structural / highway design documents, and performing accurate quantity take-offs for highway works and structures (major bridges, minor bridges, flyovers, ROB/RUB, culverts, retaining structures, etc.). The ideal candidate is strong in measurement and estimation, understands item-rate/BOQ-based tendering, and can work effectively under tight bid timelines for EPC and HAM projects.Key Responsibilities Study and interprettender documents including: RFP / Bid documents Technical specifications (MoRTH / IRC / IS as applicable) Drawings (GADs, alignment plans, cross-sections, L-sections, structure drawings) Technical schedules, scope, and BOQ (when provided) Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and estimate sheets for: Highway works: earthwork, GSB/WMM, DBM/BC, granular layers, subgrade, embankment, drainage, road furniture, safety works, signage, markings, etc. Structures: major/minor bridges, flyovers/viaducts, culverts, retaining walls, crash barriers, RE walls, approach slabs, foundations, piling, PSC/RC components, bearings, expansion joints, etc. Develop tender cost estimates by: Building item-wise rate analysis (materials, labour, plant & machinery) Including project preliminaries, temporary works, traffic management, batching/crusher plants, etc. Coordinating for freight, royalty, borrow area assumptions, leads & lifts, and construction methodology inputs Other Responsibilities Prepare and manage vendor/subcontractor enquiries, comparative statements, and final price recommendations. Identify scope gaps / risks / ambiguities and raise Tender Queries (TQs)/RFIs with proper technical & commercial justification. Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and construction teams to validate assumptions and methodology. Maintain proper tender documentation and ensure a clean handover of quantities, assumptions, and pricing notes post-award.Required Qualifications & Experience Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). 5+ years of experience in tender estimation / pre-bid QS for highway and bridge projects. Hands-on expertise in quantity take-off from: Highway drawings (alignment, L-section, cross-sections, typical sections) Structural drawings (GAD, RCC/PSC drawings, reinforcement basics, piling, substructure/superstructure) Strong understanding of: MoRTH specifications, IRC, IS standards (as relevant to highways & structures) Leads/lifts, construction staging, and project execution constraints typical to NHAI jobs Proficiency in: MS Excel (advanced estimation sheets, summaries, comparisons) AutoCAD / measurement software (e.g., CostX / PlanSwift / Bluebeam — any relevant tools) Experience in EPC and HAM project tendering specifically under NHAI.
