About the role: We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations and production. This role requires deep technical expertise across fermentation and downstream processing, along with strong execution capability in managing day-to-day production operations. Responsibilities: - End-to-end ownership of production operations, including fermentation, downstream processing, and plant utilities - Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, hygiene, and documentation standards - Coordinate closely with R&D, QA/QC, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams - Lead production planning, shift scheduling, and manpower management - Troubleshoot process and equipment-related issues and drive continuous process optimization - Maintain batch manufacturing records, SOPs, operating logs, and audit readiness - Support commissioning, validation, and scale-up of new equipment and processes - Play a key role in Phase-2 expansion planning and future capacity scale-up initiatives Good to have: - Prior 15-20 years of hands-on experience in biotech, fermentation-based, or biomanufacturing environments - Strong, proven expertise in both fermentation and downstream processing - In-depth understanding of bioreactor operations, purification systems, utilities, and plant operations - Prior experience managing production teams in food-grade / regulated environments - Hardworking, reliable, and execution-focused with a strong sense of ownership - Comfortable operating in a startup pace with evolving systems and high accountability
