General Manager – OperationsLocation:Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (frequent travel to site) Reports To:Board of Directors (dotted line to Managing Director) Role Overall responsibility forstrategy, operations, assets, and P&Lof the company’s industrial solar salt business in Tanzania, including salt fields, processing facilities, and domestic/export operations. Key Responsibilities Define and execute business strategy aligned with the Board Full ownership ofoperations, infrastructure, manufacturing, and asset performance Lead through site GM with strong governance and regular on-site reviews Full P&L responsibility: budgets, capex, costs, EBITDA, cash flow Provide strategic oversight to sales, pricing, and market expansion (domestic & export) Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, and asset protection Build and lead senior teams; manage regulators, customers, financiers, and local stakeholders Candidate Profile Engineering degree (Chemical preferred); MBA preferred 5–10 years in asset-heavy industrial/manufacturing businesses (chemicals/salt/minerals) Prior GM / Operations / Plant Head role with P&L ownership Africa experience preferred (East Africa ideal) Strong operational, financial, and leadership capability
