About the role: The Lead, Program Design (TBTP) will be responsible for end-to-end leadership of plantation and green infrastructure initiatives across Punjab. This role involves strategic planning, government and panchayat engagement, operational oversight, budget management, and ensuring high-quality on-ground execution on a scale. This is a senior field leadership role requiring strong coordination with district administrations, technical teams, partners, and village institutions to deliver measurable environmental impact. What you'll do: Programme Leadership & Planning Lead the design, planning, and execution of plantation and green infrastructure projects under Plant for Punjab. Develop annual and multi-year plantation strategies, targets, and implementation plans. Ensure alignment with Roundglass Foundation's environmental protocols and impact frameworks. Government & Stakeholder Engagement - Engage with district administrations (DCs, ADCs, BDOs, Forest & Horticulture departments) and state government stakeholders to secure approvals, convergence, and scale. - Work closely with village panchayats to identify sites, plan budgets, and ensure community ownership. - Facilitate convergence with government schemes (MGNREGA, CAMPA, Forest Dept., Panchayat funds, CSR). Operations & Team Management - Lead and manage field teams, supervisors, and implementation partners across districts. Oversee nursery operations, plantation logistics, site preparation, planting schedules, and post-plantation care. - Ensure timely delivery against targets while maintaining quality and survival rates. Budgeting, Reporting & Impact - Own program budgets, resource planning, and cost optimization. - Oversee monitoring, survival tracking, and impact assessments. - Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal leadership, donors, and government stakeholders. Community Engagement & Awareness - Support awareness campaigns around environmental stewardship, plantation care, and community participation. - Strengthen village-level systems for long-term maintenance and sustainability of plantation sites. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance, identify trends, and take proactive measures for improvement. - Prepare and present regular reports on plant operations, performance, and project management. Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's or master's degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Engineering, or related fields. - 15+years of experience in large-scale plantation, forestry, environmental programs, or allied rural development initiatives. - Strong experience working with government systems, district administrations, and panchayats. - Proven ability to lead large field teams and manage multi-location operations. - Strong understanding of plantation techniques, survival management, and landscape restoration. - Excellent stakeholder management, planning, and problem-solving skills. - Comfort with data, reporting, and impact measurement. - Willingness to travel extensively across Punjab.
